If you can get a car loan at 3% but can invest your money somewhere and get a > 3% return, then it makes sense. You also need to factor in risk obviously - stock market may average better than x%, but there are no guarantees.
Still, there is no part of me that can imagine paying a monthly car payment. I took a very short term loan from my dad in 2003 to buy an E36 M3, but that was because I was just coming out of school and had nothing. If you put your money in the stock market expecting an automatic return you're gonna get fleeced. Of course I'm not addressing you Nick, just the general public.

Chpmamswjiejoifa please give me links. Also. I found a 2010 335i for sale. Private party $35,000 15,000 miles sport package Corsa Axleback Exhaust black with brown interior WARRANTY THROUGH 2016 cus of CPO, and a few other things. I think I will get it. I will probably just pay cash. The way I spend my money, I do not want to handle payments. I do not like having to pay attention to details, and I like having a totally worry-free budget. I also like knowing that other than the money that goes towards my one payment, my mortgage, the rest of the money is all mine. I think I will probably mod the car, simple stuff that won't fuk the warranty. Intake, reflash that can be reversed. Done. |

335i review Very nice car. Quiet. Smooth. Kinda slow but chip should help.-Not nearly as visceral or raw as 135. I already own two miatas tho. I can tell that this car is begging for big downpipe a d exhaust. Sorry bby not yet. Fun to drive tho. Power curve is pretty good. Interior. Very cushy n plush. Makes me feel good about myself and my personal success. That is what i wanted. Thanx forum. Not exactly super snazzy at all but with a little bodykittery and aesthtics stuff car should look tre nice Oh. And i paid cash bitches. |

Congrats but still kinda dumb paying cash. If it gets wrecked tomorrow you are out 35k on the spot while you pray the insurance company pays you back. Just another reason. But hey, different strokes...
|
PROTIP: don't touch it. Drive it. Later get an exhaust and tune. Have it installed by reputable shop. PROFIT

The bank isn't going to just let you stop paying on the loan simply because you wrecked the car. |

OK FELLUZ what wheels should I get? Size, type, links. Pics preferably. Please, I don't want to pay $3000 for some stupid rims. What is the 6UL equivalent. I also want black wheels. |
id want a 335ix sedan.
|
Congrats minimal brainwork, you now have three rwd cars and plans to sell your ownly awd car. I hope you have good insurance come winter.
|
Sedan is a better looking car IMHO, looks more balanced. Coupe doors are like 16 feet long, but it's a nice car.
JB4 Downpipe Meth injection Done. That will get you a bit over 400/400. http://ericsmccormick.com/bmw/dyno_v4_meth_std.gif Do it. I won't do it so you should. |
still no LSD though.
I'm sure you're fine with it, but that'd really be a deal breaker for me. |
It's just a daily for me so I give no fucks.

Hell, my 99 leaves a 3inch high path in the snow where the frame pushes the snow out of the way, but I just slap on my 14 inch blizzacks on stock NA wheels, and I ride out like a baus. |

If its a BMW you gotta go with the mesh wheels, and you dont get sexier than a CCW classic.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1340342470 but Fikse is still my favorite and I do love me some FM10s (on e46) https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1340342470 M6 wheels look good to http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1162325713 Iforged makes some nice stuff but I dont like the shape of the wheel face on the newer 3 series. |

Tune-JB4 or Cobb, cobb is easier if you ever take your car to dealer. JB isn't hard to install but it takes some time to swap it in and out and is cheaper
Just get some cat less downpipes, a better FMIC and maybe an intake. Forget the meth and spend it on having VAC or someone install an LSD(in your pumpkin-your diff has the ring gear welded to the carrier) you can even get an OS Giken if you want. As for wheels EVERYONE makes wheels for these cars. I still say get some baller Forgeline or HRE wheels so someone can steal them. Schnitzer,BBS, Beyern and others make pretty decent wheels. Enkei or cheap TSW/Rotas would be fine |

forrealz: "murdered out" is as played out as herrafrush.
I guess min just can't handle having a clean, unmolested, non-barney the dinasour looking car |
Well, on the bright side we'll soon learn the one method by which a person can accidentally destroy the engine in a BMW simply by changing the wheels.
|
 oh and btw, those things are like 10k iirc, used.

Nice work, Min. I dig it. Paying cash for a car like that is baller status too. That alone should be enough to pick up a 7 at the bar; maybe more when she sees the (eventual) dyno chart on your Miata.
If you are okay with cheap fake wheels, hard to beat the look of the LM reps. Buy them 5 at a time so that you are set if/when you bend one. Some of the reps are better quality than others, so do your homework on the BMW forum. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1319225867 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1340370959 http://www.aspecwheels.net/Guang%20Y...0WHEEL%206.jpg |
those look too classy. it needs to look like the average NoVA bimmer owner who never washes the car and has black wheels from brake dust.

The bank isn't going to just let you stop paying on the loan simply because you wrecked the car. More power to him obviously and for the record I don't like counting other peoples money, but if you flash the cash I will. |

I think you're going way overboard with this whole "don't buy it cash" thing. Seriously. Its not bad at all. He has the cash, can obviously afford the car, doesn't worry about payments or throwing away extra cash in interest, etc. Itd be a different story if this was his "life savings" and he barely scraped the cash together to make this happen, but it def doesn't look like it.
So once again I will say, congrats on the car faelflora and enjoy it. |
I aint even mad:)
You are entitled to your opinion, I'm just trying to understand it is all. |
liquidity > credit.
if you think otherwise, it's poor money management. |

black on black with silver lips? sure, but you could more easily get a "Summer's Eve" wrap for the car and get the same effect.
And +100 what 18psi said. murdered out is played. it's so played even my non-enthusiast wife knows what it means and points and laughs. |

I'd rather keep 30 grand in my pocket for a rainy day while making monthly payments from that pool or spending it on something else because chances are i'll sell the car before I pay out the entire 35k to the bank.
More power to him obviously and for the record I don't like counting other peoples money, but if you flash the cash I will. What??? Look, I just like spending my money in a care free fashion. I don't want to accidentally get in the debt hole because of the mentality of "ooh how much do I make a month? Oh I have $xxx extra! I can afford a payment on a new TV". Who the fuk thinks like this??? Millions of morons that owe wayyyy more money on shi than I do. Fukkin retards
