MBUS installed. I like the form and function... definitely taking off the Primary Arms scope.

I'm gonna put it on CL unless somebody here wants it... $150 shipped or I'll trade for ??? Whatcha got?

Not sure I'd want the MBUS stuff on a gas block. They tend to get a wee bit hot.

Or do you think the composite is up for it?

Magpul recommends not to do it. Dozens of threads across the webs that say it can melt, high temps, yadda yadda...

To date, I have yet to see an actual picture or video of a melted one. I have Google-fu and to my best knowledge, melted MBUS's are a myth. I'm sure that if you did 20 mag dumps and got the thing glowing hot, then perhaps... but I don't have the money for even 1 mag-dump, so I'm good there.

But like I always say, my guns are tools. Can it get me through a prolonged urban-warfare type fire-fight? I think I'm good. Since I'll probably only head out the door with 6 mags or so and don't plan on dumping them. At a future date, I'll upgrade to the Troy's if funds allow, but for now, I'm saving up for an optic and a .38snub. ...and ammo... and more propane tanks... and a Berkey filter... and a Sequoia Limited.

I'm kinda interested in that PA optic but not sure I can budget it right now.. Spent an awful lot on guns the last few months..

Lots of gun related stuff seems to be like that Sam... Armchair lawyers, commandos and operators say do this or don't do that, yet they've never had any actual experience or can site any factual account of something happening. Prime example is hand loads in a self defense shooting.. It may or may not be a good idea, but if there's no case law then there's no reason to post/say/repeat it and last I checked there wasn't.

I have a lead on 2 'lightly' used bolt carrier groups for $225 each. Thinking about picking them both up if someone needs one. I'd be selling off one of the carriers also and just keep one bolt/firing pin/cam....

So I'd be buying both... you just pay what I paid (covering shipping) and I keep parts off of one of them.

Anyone? One is Colt, other is Bushmaster.

If anyone does want one and/or the carrier from the other... speak up soon. I doubt the option offered to me will stay alive for long.

Saw last night that my local Walmart had 555's and 225's of 22lr in stock. I hauled *** over... good on the employees for sticking to the 10pm sale limit. The stuff was still in the back and hadn't been put on the shelves yet, and they wouldn't go get it for me... kinda glad.

The kids slowed me down this morning, so I didn't get there until 9am (ammo comes out at 8am promptly). The shipment was a case each (10 packs each) of 555's and 225's plus a little big of everything else. SG counter lady said 5 people were standing at the case when she rolled out... and they all bought their limit in the bulk packs of .22lr

I got the last 225 pack of Golden Bullets and 2 of the 100pk Winchester 9mm's... good haul as this Walmart is less than 10mins away. I'm taking the kids to Qdoba at lunch which is in the same parking lot... may stop back in and see if any of those 100pks are still there... might get lucky.

Well i went ahead and ordered the magpul rail and rear sight. Later on down the road I can resell the rail and get the more expensive one. But when it comes down to it, I am just ready for a functioning rifle. Last part needed is a BCG and charging handle.

Just hit the jackpot. Couple months ago I ordered a 300blk upper assembly for my AR and while it hasn't shipped yet I've seen been on the lookout for brass or loaded ammo. Well tonight I struck the motherload. 1000 pieces of Lake City Primed brass for $110.00. What's the catch? The neck was damaged during their loading process and I found someone who bought a few thousand pieces from them. Going tomorrow to check it out!

One nice things about magpul products, you can always resell them for basically retail prices, sometimes a little more. Good call.

That is my EXACT plan to fix them!

$110 for 1000 pcs. $0.11 each and they're already primed. Only negative to this is I'll have to swage the goddamn primer pockets for the next time...
