Bought a Crossman M4-177. Looks like an M4 and is .177 caliber, pump. Has 5 shot "clips". Right at 625 FPS, so should suffice. Also got a Gamo 4x32 scope, and some hunting pellets. Cost about $125 + tax. Got it home only to discover the airgun scope has crappy little rings that are not weaver compatible. Too dark to shoot tonight, but I'll get it dialed in first thing tomorrow.

And to top it off, I still forgot to get rings for my .22 mag scope (Simmons) that I mail ordered last week for my trusty Marlin.

The vast majority of the population does not qualify to purchase through the CMP. $800-$900 for a solid Garand is not unheard of out this way.

I'm not saying that's a "good price" I'm saying that $950 is not an uncommon tag to see on one. I know I'd never buy one for that, but I qualify for CMP.

As part of my qualification for CMP, I joined the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA) by mail. I send them a check, they send me a membership card, I send a copy of that and all my other documentation to CMP and I buy ****. Simple as that. I'm sure there are equivalent organizations out there in Floridia. I think I found CRPA through the CMP website somewhere.

I want a 74 skeleton triangle sidefolder but I don't want to buy the Arsenal because they don't have the trunion reinforcement plate sandwiched between the grip and bottom of the receiver anymore.
