Thanks- that's what I thought. Big surprise while I'm going 100+.

No haven't sent it to Porsche guy. I might forward it to the track manager and have him try to contact the guy.

Wait was that an alternate configuration/bypass that is coned off? As in not the actual track exit? He shouldn't have done that unless he was having mechanical problems. 100% that guys fault, what an idiot. You did a good job of not plowing into him.

He needs to stop concerning himself with in-car Porsche issues in the middle of an active track and watch his damn mirrors. He could have killed you by stopping and turning in front of you.

If you're looking for something to do differently, that would be it. Was this on an outlap? I know that if I were closing on a vehicle at that rate I would have lifted much earlier, out lap or not.

I disagree. On the street, yes, but the track is supposed to be a more controlled environment. I pass off-pace cars on the straights that are off line regularly because mechanical failures are common on the track. What you don't usually see is an off-pace car crossing the track 3/4 of the way down the straight without checking his mirrors. It's ludicrous.

Taking a shortcut through the infield would be considered a big problem with most organizations as well.

you pass a camaro that's beading in pads while green, and then a Porsche tries to take you out. you need to find a better group of people to drive with. this is a nasa commercial.

I'm not at all saying he did anything wrong. But if he had slowed down it wouldn't have been such an emergency. I realize it's supposed to be a controlled environment, and it is. But that doesn't mean that people aren't going to do insanely stupid things as shown above.

I Slow down when passing mechanical failure cars. I think not slowing down to pass a car that's obviously going way slower than race pace is unwise. No lap time is worth that risk in my opinion.

If neither of those guys were called out on their unsafe behavior, You definitely need to find a new group to run with.

That wasn't a real exit though. If it was the track exit I might be a little more cautious. But that was a conned of section of the track, the porsche had no business going there.

Someone jammed a motorcycle straight up my *** when I was slowing to let someone merge onto the track. A motorcycle, the track is ******* huge and he picked where I was as where he wanted to go.

Dammed if you do, possibly dammed if you don't.

Nope. The track was hot all day. it's pretty much a zoo out there.

Either way- someone with a racecar (not street car) should know better period.

If the organizers were not concerned with the two cars you passed I would consider running with different organizers.

The car you are driving has no effect on your experience level. i know plenty of people that buy ex-race cars and then proceed to ruin everyone's day.
