Amazingly the driver (reportedly) survived that. Broken leg, a couple broken ribs and 2nd degree burns over 40% of his body.
I would have guessed a much, much worse outcome...

I saw 3 guys in vespas that had ryden from GB ryding there, pretty scarry but they had no issues doing it.
The miata surely got a tiket for the crash, a repair bill for the guard rail and the tow truck.

Yes, that's one of the biggest dangers with the ring. You can be flying and come up on someone just toodling along, sightseeing. It'd be like holding the main HPDE time AND parade laps on a course simultaneously.

I really don't pull video from the dash cam often enough. But these both happened in the same day, today. I had to post.
If you look close at the second one, you can see the truck signaling right when he made the left turn.

You rushed through the stop sign to try to get out in front of him. It didn't work. Truck wins.
Reminds me of an industrial area by one of the highway entrances that I frequently use. For trucks, it takes them forever to get through the intersection, so two or even three cars can usually sneak through while the truck is turning the same way.

What are you talking about? That's a single-lane road where he rolls up on the stop sign. They both turned the same way from the same lane. In direct rebuttal to your assertion, it looks like the truck never even tried to stop.

I was in a line of cars rolling up to the stop sign. He was behind me patiently waiting for his turn, or so I thought.
Because I saw he had his right blinker on, when he went wide I thought maybe he was doing the wide turn thing and really nail me. There was a car behind the truck too, when i went to check my signal they pointed at me and laughed.
