a pretty smart thing to do as well is to run a coolant reroute. while your back there you should replace or plug the blank plug on the back of the head too. It'll help with your cooling signif.

What are the benefits to running the coolant re-route? I was looking at pictures but I dont really understand how switching from the front to the rear of the head will maximize cooling abilities.

Your Miata is powered by a FWD motor. Silly compromises were made in order to make it "work" in RWD form.

Resulting in a hot spot in the back of the motor.

Cold water goes in at the front, hot water comes out at the front. SUPER hot water sits around in the back.

Interesting. I did not know this. I may look into routing the cooling this weekend. I assume you move the temp sensor to the rear as well when you do this? It sounds like I have a lot to do to get the car in the right direction but Im sure it is going to be worth it.

I didn't do the reroute on my last motor and eventually cooked my last cylinder. good compression across the board except tons of blow by on 4. No biggie anyway since i became a big boy and got a 1.9L now. booya.

Hmm. welel I have decided to hold off on working on the miata. Im going to save a little bit and then drop some money on MSPNP, fuel pump, rx7 injectors, intercooler, clutch and the re route kit.

In the meantime I will be transporting it over to my parents garage to pull the motor. When I get everything, I will post pics/start a new thread..

My last question to everyone is has anyone ever used the AEM tru boost controller before? What were your thoughts etc??

Yeah, I cant decide between rx7 460cc or the turbo II 550's. im not going for a lot of power obviously because i have a td04h turbo.
