Default NB from Florida and CR.net

Hi gang. I recently made the decision to boost my car and i figured this would be a great place to gain some knowledge. I drive a 99 which is my fourth miata and first one to be boosted.

I started ordering parts last night and so far I have...
A td05 16g Turbo
Tubular crap manifold
Mishimoto intercooler
"DIY " piping
7mge 305cc injectors
4 bolt down pipe

I know this is nowhere near complete. I'm waiting for Braineack to get back to me about a megasquirt and I'm also looking around for oil/coolant lines, wideband, spark plugs, and some other misc things. My goal is somewhere between 8 and 10psi. Hopefully I can figure out everything I need to know from you wise guys.

Now for pics.

Welcome to the site, I'd contact ARTech for water/oil lines, Innovative LC1 or AEM UEGO for wideband, NGK BKR7E is the spark-plug most of us run. Good luck!

Yeah I have heard quite a few good reviews on the lc1. If I have anything left over after the MS, I will definitelty be picking one of those up. As for the lines, I am going there right now.

Welcome to the site, sounds like you're putting together a nice setup.

And if they look at you like you're retarded and tell you they don't have a BKR7E, then tell them part #4644 and they'll bring out the same plugs.

Thanks for all of the advice guys.

Madvillain, I just got back from Spain last night. Can we arrange a good time to pick up that cluster?

I'm having a bit of a pickle here. I can't seem to find where the measurement for the 99 oil feed line is. I'm pretty sure I saw it in the sticky but now I cant seem to find it. I really wish i had a 94 block right about now. I would hate to order a line and have it be too short. Maybe I should just wait til the turbo comes and measure it with a piece of string...Unless one of you guys knows off hand how long that line needs to be

36" should do... I bought mine from stealth performance fits like a charm. I did not see you listed any injectors. Rx7 460s should be more than enough for your goal.

Thanks Buffon01. I do have injecors. 7mge 305cc. They're going to be maxed out but they should work for 180whp.

As for the tubular manifold, I didn't have many options. I'm using a td05 turbo and I needed a cheap manifold that I didn't mind cutting and welding.

Heres why, notice the flange on the turbo.

You should upgrade your injectors to something a little bigger. Head room is always good. Also running a high duty cycle can be a liability. Do you have pics of your manifold?

The manifold has not yet arrived but it's an s4 knock off (sorry begi)

The injectors should be at 328cc to retain the 80% duty cycle. That's assuming the setup will make 200bhp.

I want to share in the Florida love! Too bad I wont be boosted for a while. Something also tells me you guys dont hang out at weenie places like autox's. Sigh, maybe some day when Im alls growned up I will feel the need to hit the track. Good luck with the build. I wish I couldve afforded one and still had a budget for suspension bits.

Ebay Begi mani copies often last one week or less. You should shop for a good used mani or you will be redoing your downpipe again.

Don't use positive pressure without a wideband.

Welcome.

Thanks Sixshooter. I intend to chop and weld a lot of the ebay manifold. Which is why I went with a cheap one. I have to weld a td05 flange to it and strengthen it up quite a bit. If I knew for sure that it would work in the first shot I would have purchased the Begi manifold but since the manifold/turbo/downpipe combo are all experimental, I would rather test it out on something cheap.

Edit: And I do have a wideband.
