I don't dig Sriracha. I prefer Franks Red-Hot or Texas Pete over Sriracha anyday, although the absolutely BEST hot sauce in the world is Gator Hammock Gator Sauce. It's pretty obscure, although most "Firehouse Subs" places here in north Florida have it among their hot sauces. (That's where I first discovered its amazing goodness.) I order it by the case off the interwebs now; it's that good. Much more flavorful than the usual "heat and salt" stuff.

Wow I thought I was the only one. I'm an east coast guy transplanted to the west coast so my opinion is minority around here haha. Sriracha is okay but can't go wrong with Texas Pete or Frank's. I put that stuff on everything!

Not that obscure. I love it too. The local (now closed) california tortilla had it.

By "obscure" I meant its not something I've seen in a supermarket- it's interesting that you also found it in a restaurant; I wonder if perhaps it's carried by Sysco or one of the other large food service distribution companies?

Thats my last bottle, and I'm about to order another case of it. Want a few bottles?

I see a Meet and Greet thread with more than 1300 views and I was thinking there must be pics of hot chicks. Then I get in here and I am like Mmmm hot sauce.

Sriracha (2200 Scoville units) is definitely the best all purpose Ketchup replacement. For more heat then I use Dave's Ultimate Insanity (180,000 Scoville units). If I'm having a really shitty day, then I'll have Mad Dog 357 (357,000 Scoville units) and realize I'm just being a bitch and life ain't so bad...until I have to go to the bathroom the next day

This is my favorite. Its a very small batch hot sauce made in Asbury Park, NJ. I bought it a couple years ago when I was visiting my now ex-girlfriend. Not so hot that you cant taste the flavor and not so weak that you cant feel it.

Sure if the price is right.

By "right" I mean "cheap".

You buy it off their website for $44/case?

Let me know.

Yeah, of course at cost, which works out to $3.67 a bottle, plus whatever it costs to mail it. I don't need a dozen bottles on-hand, y'know?

(Only two; one for home, and one for the shop. I used to keep one at the Girlfriends house, until she chucked it out while cleaning out the fridge one day.

Things changed for us after that.

Hey, speaking of Girlfriends, what ever happened to our hapless French Canadian OP?

I really detest Frank's products. In fact, I have a hard time with all the vinegar based hot sauce products.

Ya'll need more Pepper Plant in your life.

There used to be a "hot sauce emporium" not far from where I lived in DC but it failed soon after opening. It was run by a hot sauce maker that goes by "Uncle Brutha" who makes a decent hot sauce.

Welcome | UncleBrutha's

My problem with places like that, though, is that there are so many idiotic, gimmicky hot sauces that you can't really differentiate them. Thankfully the hot sauce emporium did frequent tastings and actually had a hot sauce bar with chips handy to try tons of sauces.

I hate finding sauces but Whole Foods carries the Scoville Institute brand sauces and I like the Garlic Cayenne (Gc) because it's spicy and not too ridiculous but has great flavor and works well for a daily driver.

I also do enjoy some tart tabasco green for my chipotle burrito.

No smokey Chipotle Tabasco for your Chipotle football?

I will need to get pictures of my collection in this thread, but I have about a dozen different bottles of hot sauce in my pantry. I like variety so one of my favorite pickups was a Dave's variety pack with about a bunch of mini bottles of all sorts of flavors.

I don't do the Insanity or ghost sauces like that Mad Dog posted above. I want to taste the sauce (and my food... and anything else after the sauce hits my tongue).

Pinky - St. Augustine has at least one (maybe two) shops dedicated to hot sauces and one of my favorite all-purpose sauces is a datil pepper sauce from there. I'll try to check name and post it here.

Can do. I'll order the case tonight..

Anybody else in for some Gator Sauce? Five are spoken for, I want four, so there are three bottles available. It's pretty good.
