Default assistance please. no start.

So I'm now part of the MS club... kinda. I built and installed all the software according to the sticky but my car will not start. It cranks fine but i can't get it to flip over. I tried plugging my stock ecu in and that works.

I have a 1990 with a 2560 and stock injectors as well as afm. I have 460 injectors, iac, and an lc-1 to install but before i installed those things i thought i'd get the computer working first to make sure it was working properly before adding more to the equation.

I followed the software howto when installing the software and with the package downloaded from diy autotune i loaded up the 90-93 map file. The firmware i flashed was based off the folder that said 90-93 with maf.

I did connect the fuel pump up to the light green wire and when i turn the key i can hear it prime. any suggestions or thought are appreciated. thanks!

Check for spark and fuel.

Fuel, air, spark, and compression. What are you missing?

Alright... Which spark output mods did you use, the ones we suggest or the circuit that Joe Perez designed?

Here's what I need you to do:
Crank the car for 10 seconds while taking a composite log and a datalog, and email that to me with a copy of your current .msq. Address is websales@diyautotune.com

Pretty sure means maybe not. Don't guess, check.

Use a test light on the injector wires, they're switched ground.....

Check for spark too. Actually check, don't assume.

Are you seeing an RPM indication in Megatune / Tuner Studio when you crank it?

One very common problem I see on initial no-starts is a reversal of the two ignition channels. IOW, plugs 1/4 are firing when 2/3 should, and vise-versa. You can quickly test for this by reversing the leads between the two coils.

If you want to be scientific about this, put a big ole' paint mark on the pulley around the notch, clip a timing gun onto #1, and crank the engine while pointing the gun at the pulley. (You'll probably have to power the gun externally, as some don't like the reduced system voltage during cranking.) Is the paint mark 180° away from where it should be? If so, you're backwards on the ignition.

You can check for spark (generally) by pulling out one plug and resting it on the valve cover while cranking. If there's spark, you'll see it.

The rpm guage is blanked out in megatune. I pulled the plug and rested it and saw nothing. I believe i have no spark. I double checked my wiring and all the resistances and my spark output wiring is good to my knowledge. What does red rpm guage mean?

edit: btw this is the map i loaded and yes i did change it to inverted before loading it.

Any thoughts? I still haven't made any progress.

Also as a side note I put U7 and didn't take it out because it has 8 pins and it's kind of difficult to remove. That shouldn't effect anything right? I was following the mega manual on install and put it in initially till i realized i was doing too much work on unnecessary things.

If you're not getting any RPM readout, you have some kind of tach signal problem. I'd check jumpers and mods first. Did you build the bords yourself? Post pics....

I am not sure what you mean like this. Is it showing any RPM? Maybe you can take a screen shot?

I'd recommend running TunerStudio as your tuning software. Not only does it have a newer, friendlier interface, it also has a diagnostics mode which can help with no start situations.

ok well i'm feeling like a super newb right about now but i'm very determined to get this working and i really appreciate all of your help truely. I'll take some pictures and supply some more information but before we go any further on my spark output I ran into a new issue. I was planning on rolling my fenders today so I went to go swap to stock ecu so i could drive to my friends house and I seemed to have left the key on so my battery was dead. I let the battery charge and then I went to start the car. Now when i start the car it cranks over then shuts off. my tach doesn't even flinch and when i put the diagnostic in it blinks once telling me i have an igniter or pcm problem. Earlier in the day when my battery was very low i remember the tach dancing very lightly. It starts nice and strong and you'd think it would level out but it just dies. You can rule out vacuum leaks and all that other crap cause i haven't touched anything but the ecu and flipped back and forth. All sensors i ran over like afm and ther are all plugged in and good.
