That nipple had nothing connected to it right? My car doesn't have cruise control.

I have my boost gauge mounted on there now. I'll just add this in there too. I know there was an FPR in the tank... I just thought there might be another one under the hood and I was going nuts trying to find it lol.

I definitely plugged things into the VICS actuator mech though right? Or was that the EGR ish?

Brain's instructions said off the fpr on the back of the manifold. So that's what I was looking for lol. BRAIN UPDATE THE INSTRUCTIONS ahhahaa.

Thanks aidan.

I have no idea what you're smoking or how you could have messed up literally the easiest part of the install this badly, but for now just use that spare port you labeled "B" at least to eliminate any more variables. This "turbulence" you reference is nowhere near significant, at least in your current scenario.

No. The NB is a returnless fuel system. Only one line running from the tank to the engine.

Haha, yeahhhh.

I'm just going to tee off the back of the head like Aidan suggested. I definitely got a bit lost looking for a second fpr that didn't exist. All the install links I found on this site that had pictures were using an NA from the looks of it. I couldn't tell that from the engine bay, but put two and two together when aidan confirmed that they didn't have that.

Doh...

the first fpr doesn't exist in the engine bay either

I've used that front port many times. the only turbulent flow I have is in the bathroom after I eat chipotle.

Weak stomach. Eat more KFC, it will make your chipotle times easier.

Brain's instructions say to Tee off the FPR at the back of the manifold.

Can't handle this stomach talk right now. Had food poisoning last week... I lost like 8 lbs...

And here I was... trying to be good... when the solution all along was to be like all the other people that get yelled at for not following instructions.

Oh miata turbo...

She lives!!! Just drove misty miata for the first time!!!

Car runs pretty well, though it seemed to run super lean a few times after a downshift. I know this is normal, but it seemed to linger even when I was on the throttle. I was on VEAL, so I'll let that sort it out. Just kind of terrifying seeing it spike to 22.4 (no fuel because of downshift aka normal) then hang out at like 17-18 for a little bit before going back down to a normal reading.

I also tested my idle valve and it seems to work between 25-75 which seems off compared to the 60-100 I see everywhere for the NB1.

My only concern right now and this seems a bit like a safety issue, is that the car hangs at like 3-4k rpm any time I let off the throttle. Is this an acceleration enrichment setting or something? It freaked me out the first few time since I was coasting to a stop and letting off the clutch and the revs jumped up out of nowhere. It does it when the car is idling as well. I’ve attached a log of the issue and used spacebar to highlight where it happens. As you’ll notice, the TPS reads 0 but the revs don’t drop at all for a second.

Thanks for all your help!

Dunzo. The MAP is coming down at the same time. I think it might be due to MAP based accel enrichment? I can't see the hang being that long from it though.

I went back to the base map that brain resent me and the only difference here is that I ran VEAL for about 15-20 mins for fueling. I haven't updated the idle valve settings back in yet either.

Your engine state settings might be weird. It seemed like it was going into idle when it shouldn't.

I posted the tune! I also hit spacebar in the log. Those two logs are each like 800kb.

They're both in the post above.

Your closed loop target rpm is like 3k.

But when it's in closed loop idle sitting there, it's putting away at 850 or so warmed up. Starts up at 1300 when cold and works its way down. I don't see a 3-4k value anywhere on any of the idle tables. They don't even have resolution up past 1300. I just checked all the settings in idle. It did this if I went past a certain threshold of TPS sitting in idle as well. It powers up and hangs out there for a few seconds and then comes right back to where it should be according to the CLT/VE rpm tables.

Also, I didn't touch anything in this map re: closed loop idle. I doubt brain did that lol.

I wonder if two settings are in conflict?
