I have an account there because I've been reading things. You have the same username there right? I''ll post things up in a few. I put away the surface for a bit.

It was a bit nerve wracking driving it lol. I had to make sure I didn't let out the clutch till the revs started coming down. I wouldn't have taken the car out like this if anyone had been on the road.

Thanks Aidan!

Unrelated question: Is it normal for the fuel pump to prime continuously with the keys in the on position? Mine just keeps at it. It didn't do that on the OEM ecu.

Aidan,

Main changes since 1.5.0 release firmware

Bug fixes:
Correct ini scaling error on fuel pressure for bar and psi.
Fix an engine states issue interacting with idle where once you're in CL idle, you don't come out of it until the throttle is pressed.
Variable tacho gave wrong config error.
Fix for overrun fuel cut to respect the RPMDot-based RPM limits for turning fuel back on.
Fix "Communications Established" message popping up.
Source: Megasquirt Support Forum (MSEXTRA) ? MS3 pre-1.5.1 beta 1 firmware released (View topic)

Think that's where the conflict is coming from? I posted a thread which will get posted when a mod there approves it.

Fuel Pump: No

I saw that. I don't think so. That is about leaving idle, not entering it. I just installed 1.5.1 from 1.5.0, with no warnings. Might be worth a try.

WTFFFFFFF.... It doesn't stop priming. Is there a setting to make it stop? I'll email brain about it in the morning too, but I'm sure he'll see this first. Car runs totally fine, but it primes for eternity.

I'll try 1.5.1 once they approve my thread and I get some input. I shouldn't have updated it from the 1.4.x it came with.

How did you wire it. Did you follow the 1.6 instructions again?

Edit: 99-05 doesnt need fuel pump wiring. Hmmm. Idk then. I know mine doesnt do that. Wonder if its an NB thing.

My NB doesn't do that.

As far as idle goes my idle valve range is like 25-48 or something. No real need to go higher except maybe at elevation. I usually idle around 28-32 or so idle duty. Try lowering the max duty a bit.

Obviously yours doesn't do that... It's not magical!

This is true, I don't let them near my vehicles. That's so messed up that they would do that tho.

In all seriousness though, my car is plenty magical, you did see my last timeslips. Didn't you?

I'm not so sure medicinal was such a good idea for the commonwealth.

Sounds like you need to go through your idle menu and play with the different functions one at a time and put them back. Use the little notepad at the top of each function to keep detailed notes until you don't need to anymore.

Can one revert back to an older firmware version after updating? I want to see if the new 1.5.x beta fixes my issue because there's a CL idle issue with engine states and I think that might be an issue. MSExtra still hasn't approved my posts since the first two require moderator approval and I'm kind of twiddling on my thumbs right now...

I'd happily go back to the 1.4.x that you sent everything on, but I don't know how to do it and retain the project/tune.

Should I just redownload and flash 1.4.1 from the MS3 archives and call it a day? I honestly wouldn't have accepted the autoupdate of 1.5.x if I'd known that it was going to be such a bloody headache...

Sorry. I meant to write autoprompt. It prompted me to update and I accepted because I was like 'oh yay new ish!'.

Yeah, I didn't specifically go out looking for the 1.5.x update. It brought it up when I was first installing and syncing everything months ago before I mailed it back to brain to give it a once over because of the wideband ish. I accepted because I'd just read a thread about folks discussing the newest update. I have a feeling it was an older thread talking about the update to the newer 1.4.1 firmware lol.

I'll try to reflash 1.4.1.

might as well see if the 1.5.1 bugfix solves your issue actually. seems like it addresses it. easier to upgrade than downgrade, and you can do it within TS now.
