Okay, jumped fp/gnd with iat on. Runs and stays running fine.

What now?

You can either leave the fp/gnd jumped and drive around like that, or you can read the stickies at the top of this section and learn how to build the correct circuit to control the 1.6 fuel pump.

I'd double check you actually hooked up the high side driver circuit.

that's what drives the fuel pump when you remove the AFM...obviously it's not working.
