I found one for $77. I am not sure it is worth that much.

Last time I looked USB will not work. The type of USB hardware built into most android phones does not allow the connecting of devices to it. So most likely will be stuck using it over bluetooth for a long while. Maybe after Christmas I will pick up a serial to bluetooth adapter and give the app a try.

79 was the cheapest I found for that RS232 to BT adapter...ugh. Seems way too high, on the FAQ for this app, it talks about finding that one for something like 25 pounds. I'll keep looking, but I'd be able to use the bluetoof on my netbook as well....sounds pretty pimp, I wanna give it a shot.

Nothing against this effort, but Phil Tobin's work in progress is where the win is, once he gets things things buttoned up...

My thoughts exactly. Logging capability is cute, but I want TUNING capability (preferably with Autotune).

He mercilessly teased us with it last week: https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquirt-18/megasquirting-your-iphone-61344/ (post 11)

I have this bluetooth adapter:

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8495

It's really easy to configure, and there's no need to modify your megasquirt to get it to work.

With the logging app I wrote, it maxed out at about 9hz. I don't know whether the limitation is bluetooth, android, or something in my app.

Couldn't agree more, but if someone's desperate for logging/viewing ability then for the small cost it's possibly worth it.
