Default MS3 VSS speed signal

Reading up in preparation for my MS3 build and was wondering where to get the VSS signal from. MS3 expects a 0-5V pulse hence I take it 1M / 2M on the cluster are not suited to run straight into the MS?
The output from the instrument cluster (2L) is supposed to be a pulse. It conveniently arrives at the ecu at 2D, but I read it's a 12V pulse?

no. goes right into the MS3X (launch in, tableswitching, etc.) and works.

The output from the cluster is an open collector so it needs a pullup of your choice.

pullup is built in on those inputs on the MS3x board. 2.2K to 12v.

So I'm using the output of the cluster, not the input from the sensor, right? Cool. No extra wires to run .

I just got VSS working in my car. Basically you just need to make sure you have S12c jumped to JS9 on the main board. At first it was not working when I had it going Tableswitch In, I swapped it to Cam In on the MS3X harness and it started working. I verified it with my GPS and it was just about dead on once up to speed.

it goes back to the ECU, not wiring is needed...just taking it from your harness into the db37.

Thread necro, but did you ever figure out why the vss input to tableswitch didn't work? I'm using the Cam In for the cam sensor and have datalog hooked up to something else.

Honestly, I did figure it out, but now I don't remember. I think it had something to do with how the circuit on the expansion board is built.

Alright thanks. I'll pull up the documentation and do some more digging.
