Normally aspirated strange power curve issues
yeah the VCTS manifold is the worst of them all. Are you actually running VICS now or just the IM?
Hustler, so far as I've seen, a funcitoning VICS IM will net same exact powercurve as a squaretop.

No way, we gained significant high end power and lost a tad in the mid range when we replaced the vics with a flat top on the csp car. I dont have dyno numbers to back it up I just have the boat load of VE I needed to add up top and the bit I had to take away in the mid range to back it up.
Here's the one I was thinking of:

Run 30 [is] w/the stock VICS IM w/ VICS set at 5400 RPM, which tends to be corret for most FM2 cars. Run 33 has the flat top manifold installed.

Negative. I made a touch less torque and 10hp more (on the MD-240) from 4500-7100 with my square top compared to my daily. Same engine, same header, same exhaust, same intake pipe, the daily has a 99 plenum, green car as a square.

I am operating the VICS @ 5,400.
I will be removing the VCTS and doing some light porting (i.e. gasket matching, work behind the throttle body, etc) and retesting. I would love to gain back the lost HP and TQ and keep most/all of the high RPM power.
A question for you guys, do you think that a 2.25" Bosal made, Mazdaspeed brand Spec Miata exhaust, with a Jackson Racing 1.6L high-flow cat is too small to support more than 140HP?

The difference above 6800 RPM actually matches FM's stock 99 vs stock 01 dyno plot
