Default Prep for MSM MSLabs MS3-Basic Install

It's been almost a decade since I've messed with Meqasquirt/TunerStudio and want to ensure I have all the information handy before hooking up the brand new MS3-Basic that's sat on a shelf for 4 years. I had a PNP on my 94, so I'm familiar with setup and tuning it. Engine is stock except for intake/exhaust upgrades. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My county has emissions testing (for now... that's going away), so I want to avoid doing anything that complicates reinstalling the stock ECU.

Main instructions. I've emailed Reverant as described in the link below, and he said to stick with the installed base map as ones for later hardware revs aren't compatible. Nothing here seems all that complicated:

Barometric correction. This is probably what I'm most concerned about as I do live near mountains. Reverant said I can add a second MAP sensor to any of the spare analog inputs, but I'm curious if there's an existing guide somewhere I haven't found yet:

Max boost target on stock injectors will be 8-10psi; 10-12psi if I upgrade injectors:

Boost control. Stock MSM solenoid is currently bypassed and a manual controller is installed. Looks like I should stick with this since the stock one can't be controlled other than on/off:

IAT input. I seem to remember the stock one couldn't be used, but folks later verified the response curve. It's slower than than the GM open element, but settings to get IAT2 input are here thanks to Elmos hers:
  • -4F - 357k
  • 32F - 112k
  • 68F - 41k
  • 77F - 33k
  • 104F - 17k
  • 140F - 8k
  • 185F - 3.5k
LC-1 wideband is mounted but not wired yet. Not worried about that one though; IIRC the key is ensuring you have good ground points per the install instructions.

Anything else I'm missing besides time to actually play in the garage?

Update:
  • I had ordered my MS3-Basic with CAN bus digital wideband input, and that took me a bit to figure out since it wasn't mentioned in the instructions I had.
  • First start was very rough, as expected. Had to hold the throttle between 1500 and 2000 RPM or it would just die. Once it got up to temp and it started pulling fuel out of the map, it got better.
  • It still needs partial throttle (1200 RPM-ish) until the wideband sensor is warmed up, or it'll die at idle. I don't think anything related to the sensor is the problem--I think engine warmup and sensor warmup just happen to be close.
  • I got it running OK on the stock ignition/afr tables (after letting Tunerstudio do its thing) but then switched to ones that Braineack had posted in a couple different threads.
  • THE STOCK ECU IS COMPLETE JUNK. Even with just a start on the tune, it's so much smoother in every way. All MSM owners know this already.
To do:
  • Tuning the high RPM but not-full-boost cells on the map.
  • Reading more about injector dead time so I can set that correctly.
  • Getting cold start parameters dialed in.
  • Pull the immobilizer nanny light out of the cluster. The MS3-Basic doesn't have the hardware to interface with the stock module.
