Default Standalone or Boomslang?

Hi , im just about to start my build and am wondering which is the best route to go? Are there any major advantages or disadvantages to either setup? Will this also affect my build at all?
Cheers.

If you have A/C and still want it piggyback would be your best bet and with piggyback factory ecu will control idle

How does a standalone cause problems with A/C? Worst case scenerio is that it no longer shuts off automatically when you go WOT.

Its a 1989 Eunos , 1.6. Eventually I want to go turbo and it has to pass emissions to a degree. Im from the UK.
Also will I be able to use any injectors from any car or will only a certain type fit the miata?

not sure in the UK, emissions are gonna be your kicker, i preferre standalone over piggy, but i also call a friend up and get my inspection done over the phone...so its apples to oranges
there are many knowledgable people here that will be able to help you out tremendously either which route you go
give us more detail of what your inspections in the UK consist of to give us a better idea

As my car is an 1989 model the emissions testing I dont think will be a problem. If i go standalone does this mean i will lose the airconditiong. If thats the only problem I dont mind.
Also is it worth switching to a variable TPS or will MS be fine with the stock unit?
One last question , can I use just about any injectors from any car?
Thanks for the help.

go piggy to keep a/c functional.

it's not a big deal, i have no issues without a linear TPS signal.

see my "diy turbo faq", has a large list of PNP injectors you can use.

Electronic load detection. When systems like AC are running they increase the engine load, the ecu compensates by raising the idle up some.

Brainecks threads are great.
Just one final question , does anyone know where I can get a detailed photo of the top of the megasquirt without the case on to help me with my build.
Thanks for all the help
