Why not integrate a barb with the EGR blockoff plate and have a direct vacuum source for the FPR all compact and nicely placed and stuff

 

I've been thinking about this actually. Maybe I can find a weld-in NPT bung to add to the existing block-off.

Or it might be more economical to just double the material thickness and simply drill and tap for NPT, provide a plug and let the end user figure it out. That way you don't have to source the bung, drill, weld AND plug.

 

I'll take a regular coolant block off plate in the meantime unless you already have a turbo feed solution. Is the current version ready for tapping for this purpose?

 

I have the coolant block off plate on order so this is somewhat of a moot point, but I was wondering if the hive mind thinks that your blockoff plate can a) be used without a freeze plug b) so that I can safely thread it to run a coolant pressure sensor.

I know it's not an essential sensor but I am kinda a data junkie and if I can add it up front while still cleaning up the front of the block appearance wise it would be excellent.

 

I'm working on sourcing a solution for this, but at this point I don't even have a prototype. It's at minimum a few weeks out unless I really expedite things. Feel free to use our website if you want to grab one of the current offerings. We've only got a few coolant block offs left, but will be getting our next batch in a week or so.

 

I would expect you to be able to use the plate without the freeze plug with a nice thick gasket or a proper application of an rtv type gasket. That being said I haven't specifically done this, so assume there is a slight risk involved.

The port can be used for whatever your heart desires. Most use it for an external water temp sensor location. It can easily be plugged with a 1/8" NPT male plug if it is not desired.

FPR mounting holes are (.201") diameter with a 1.75" center to center spacing for the mini Fuelab regulator.

 

Any chance you're going to make a block off plate for the front of the coolant neck? It just provides such convenient access!
