No idea how easy it will be to root/install vanilla android, or if Harrys has a fire App, but these are going to be really cheap!

aidandj I just wanted to thank you. I was part of the original group buy and finally got mine fully setup and running. I ended up adding a fuse panel to power this and a few other things (pix coming soon). I have it mounted up behind the mirror so it's out of my field of vision.
This thing works like an absolute champ. It connects quickly and is reliable as all getout. My only complaint, which seems like you've addressed already is the white color means that mounting it on the dash creates a reflection that's distracting.
That's why ultimately mine got mounted to my rear view mirror support arm. Ultimately I like it better up there anyway... but it does sorta stand out when looking at the car. I might be interested in buying 2 of the black surround pieces from you if you would be game to sell them.

Yeah, that's the same reason I mounted mine up behind the mirror. Black case would be super duper cool, I can probably just shoot mine with matte black paint so it blends in.
Also, I was getting some buzzing out of mine with the components vibrating around inside the case at highway speed. I cut up some foam and locked it all in, now no more vibration noise! That's the black stuff inside the GPS pic Gesso posted.

I only ordered 30 of the black cases. Id be happy to order more but with shipping it would be ~$10 to your door. Maybe pull of the case and try painting it first.

Oh man, now I want orange ones. For obvious reasons 
What's the proper orientation for these things? I don't remember seeing a directional arrow on the GPS patch antenna.
