Sitrep: aidandj did me a favor and rushed me one of these last week so I could use it at the 14 hour ChumpCar race at Daytona speedway. The thing worked perfectly for 14 straight hours through heat, rain, wind, car contact, etc etc. We attached it to the front windshield with the supplied suction cups and it never budged. Used with race chrono. I never got a chance to check how many Hz we were getting regularly but it seemed to perform similarly to tye commercial high dollar receiver we used at VIR in March.

Big thanks for rushing me the unit and big thanks for putting together a nice product. I highly recommend it to anyone considering one. Super easy to use, at least with Race Chrono.

Cheers!

Thanks for the awesome review.

Guys in the second group buy I haven't forgotten you, life just has gotten crazy. I'm traveling to new jersey for a week for rowing nationals, the torsen blew up in my car, I'm graduating from college, and just bought a parts Miata. Oh and I have a track day next week....I don't want to make promises but I hope to get back to building them next week sometime.

I have tentatively set up a deal with a 3d printer to make a huge batch of these. Once I get my relocation check I'm going to purchase at least 50 of everything in one go and build and sell them. There will be another post for that though.

Another great review here. The case and components inside look awesome, hold together well, and work out of the box. Hooked right up to RaceChrono with both my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6, and recorded 10hz. I had to cancel my track weekend unfortunately, but street testing it tracks great. Will have it at LRP in a month.

Thanks for those posting reviews, that's excellent to hear!
Aidan, no worries on delivery time, we were warned and you didn't make any delivery promises - do what you've got to do, and we'll look forward to playing with them when they arrive.

On another note, did Sean get to do any testing with Trackmaster (beyond what you tried), or do I just need to switch to RaceChrono?

Haven't asked Sean lately, if I remember correctly I got it paired and it seemed to be working. I didn't get to test it in the car though.

Is this for a previous group/batch or are you taking new orders?

I'm keen for one (happy to pay $50 or whatever you settled on).

Kind of. All the pieces are here. But with my move, new job, and track season I haven't had much time at home. I will try and get them done next Tuesday when I can get off work early.

Finally got to using this thing. It's awesome. After pairing it with RaceChrono once, every time I turn the car on now it immediately hooks up (I have direct power coming from my cigarette port) and just works. GPS is accurate and I have way better data than the 1hz bs my phone puts out. Here's a lap at Lime Rock with it.

Great to hear it worked out!

Guys in batch 2, I know I sound like a broken record but its always one thing after another. Blew a trans last weekend so my usual car night (gf is at school late) is now trans swap night. I have all of the parts and cases so don't worry, I will make them eventually.

I am not worried man. Life happens, get your stuff going first.

Thanks for posting that video. That looks like a fun track. I can't wait until mine shows up.

More proof of quality product. Right is with aidandj's GPS. Left is with MotoX phone GPS. Surprisingly, the MotoX phone GPS was always within a tenth of the AMB Transponder for lap times, but obviously analyzing data throughout the rest of the course was a total waste of time.

I'm going to be at my parents all week with no garage. So I will bring these over and get them built. Just need to remember to pack up all the stuff.
