local guy races here, and his front a arm joints were seperating from the frame. Honda wouldn't waranttee it, and said the car was a write off. I think his was a yellow 02ish (newish one). Anyone else know or hear about that?

FWIW, those youtube vids of the R8 crash, if you look at the 5:02 length version, the viper in front blows smoke half way around the track. Yes, he was offline/balance, but the oil on the track doesn't help. Then it shows small fender damage on the R8. Of course, that is probably a S2000 cost fix!

 

Our runoffs winning T3 S2000s are ridiculously fast and they are surprisingly stock. CR Aero makes a big difference.

 

yes they do that. when you run r-comp, front aero, rear aero. locally fast S2K Challenge drivers have that issue. I know of 2 having that issue. once you get down to ~7 seconds below SM record. for some reason, it doesn't happen to all the fast S2K guys. still not sure why.

 

that was pretty fast for your first time out in a S. if I remember correctly, SM record is right around 2:00 flat. that's the goal to shoot for in a bone stock S2000. luckily you only had 1 spin. I was expecting a lot more

 

When that was shot I only had about 15 laps that direction. I plan to get a sub 2:00 soon.

 

don't push too hard. I failed to mention that the local driver that matched SM track record in a bone stock S2000 is Charles Ng, a Formula D pro driver.

 

I know who Charles is, I stalk all of you on youtube. That guy can drive. I still think Emilio is faster than Charles.

 

Will be working on brake ducting, xp12 pads, and a ebay front lip tonight. More updates to come. The lip is mainly to hide my wifes curb bumping, my front bumper looks like the bottom of Tony Hawks skateboard.
