That looks like 10.9 oz and are you using epoxy resin? I'm surprised your not vacuum bagging it. But i'm glad your trying new things. If you have any questions about composites, ask

Can't remember the weight on top of my head.
Using West 105 / 207 Epoxy.
As I wrote the mold is flimsy didn't trust it for vacuum bagging, we're 3 days before the event and a finished part that's a couple ounces heavier is much better than a lighter but potentially warped part that I can't use.

The side skirt extension pieces were vac bagged, BTW.

^ This can be done

Pulled the filler panels out of the molds, it's far from great, but not bad for a quick and dirty job, good enough for the time being..

2016 Super Lap Battle is in the books.
Managed to turn a 2:00.0 but could not get to the sub-2s.
I dedicated the first day to practice and setup and only used the last session to setting a good lap (which ended up being my best).
The second day was hotter and I had high hopes for the last session but an oil leak (from someone else's car) in a critical corner and other competitors dropping wheels to raise huge clouds of the world famous Buttonwillow dust killed any chance of going faster.
Oh well, live to fight another day.

Not making excuses for myself either, I knew I would be the weakest link of the car going into this.
I was rusty and sloppy and a dialed in driver would have easily gone sub-2.
Even my two fastest laps have a bunch of mistakes in them... missed apexes, missed a shift on a 2:00.1 lap (easily worth 0.5 sec).
Morpheus ran like a champ throughout the event and required nothing other than our chassis tuning efforts to keep going.
Great fun to drive, I just need to get back in the groove

Found a shortcut!

I think you may need different tires if you plan to offroad it

Did you get the DRS system to work?

I don't know Buttonwillow worth a darn, is 2:00 stinkin fast? What's the SM track record for the layout you guys used?

Cheers

We ran out of time, have all the parts for the DRS sitting on the work bench but we just didn't have the few more hours needed to put it all together.
2:00 is okay, but the high 1:58 the car is probably capable of is fast... I'm rusty.
EDIT - SM record is apparently a 2:02, thanks for checking Aidan!

There are always a bunch of good photographers at this event, Yia Lor caught Morpheus flying down the straight -

new cars are never fast out of the box. not unless it has 1,000 hp.

^ This is true, but Morpheus is already moving decently quick... I'm the weak link in the system currently.
I know I'll be quicker once I get back into driving regularly in the coming season, so I'm not too worried about it, and once the setup works as it should I'm sure I'll be able to knock sub-2 laps with ease.

Looking at the chart above really puts Creampuff's 1:59.602 lap in perspective.
That is a properly fast lap time.
