Default IAT location FM Intercooler

Sorry if this is a stupid question but would the bung in my Flyin Miata Intercooler lower left work for the GM IAT sensor?

If it's tapped with the right thread pitch then I suppose that it would. My FM IC - circa 2010 - didn't have a bung, so I drilled and tapped it myself and it's been working w/ a GM IAT sensor ever since.

Default Bung

Thanks for your response. My FM IC is 12/19 with the bung it is even in their install video. Just wondered if this was an appropriate spot for the GM IAT.

Yes, that is where I put mine, and it seems to work.
But I flipped the intercooler, so it is in the lower right corner, after the IC cools the air, which is a better place to make the measurement. You just loose the FM logo as it now faces inwards.

As long as it’s in the cold side of the intercooler and right thread pitch it will work. I had to drill my own.
