Its funny that the "waxers" don't like Rotrex but actual "racers" don't have a problem with them. Emilio, Andrew, Ryan, William, Gordon, etc., have no problem with Rotrex Miatas. These are the guys that I look to for info on how to go faster on track.

Most of the people on here who hate on the rotrex are trolls. Just giving supercharger guys a hard time. And the super charger guys are getting butt hurt by it :vash: which fuels the trolls fire. :giggle:

Speaks the troof.

I don't believe it hurts the feelings of those with a Rotrex (it doesn't mine because it works perfectly for my needs). It just hurts those that are contemplating one. As long as one knows the weaknesses and strengths of each FI option going in, they should not have an issue with their final choice.

When people on this board, that are knowledgeable, or appear to be, on turbos and FI in general knock Rotrex, the noobs listen, even when it is not in their best interest.

If I was to start from scratch now, the TDR system would be my choice, with AEM FIC engine management to stay emissions compliant. Tuned by Ken Hill

Noobs need to search more anyways. They shouldn't be making decisions based of trolling on the interwebs.

Can't argue with that

So you're saying that making bad decisions based on lack of research/footwork or knowing what you really want/need, and blindly following forum banter may lead to unsatisfactory results?

NO WAY!

On another note: what part of "lack of midrange torque makes a boring street car" is misleading?

There is some truth in this. The troll in me wanted to not post that last comment and watch the trolls troll on. But there really is a time and a place for superchargers and the rotrex has merit to it.

Miataturbo is a little intimidating for noobs due to all the flaming. It took me a while for me to realize on my own that a supercharger might be the best solution for me since it was always written off as "stupidchargers" in ever thread here.

Research on Miata Turbo WAS one of the main ways I researched Rotrex, but I was a Miata owner long enough to know who to trust for info on this site. I started building a track car and by the time I was ready for FI I knew the posts of Emilio, Ryan, William, Andrew, etc. were more informational than trolls who always say "wherz the torx"! The noobs need to read a lot of posts to figure out who knows something and who just likes to sound like they do hiding behind the "interwebs"

I don't believe I ever argued with "lack of midrange torque makes a car boring STREET car". I would agree since my last car was a modded C6 LS3. With 424 RWT just off idle, it was NOT boring.

So you're saying that Joe, Scott, Y8s, and myself pretend to know what we're doing while hiding behind the interwebs?

I wouldn't say that, but I do think it's pretty obvious that you guys aren't being clear that the Rotrex belongs in the "Usually not the best choice, and here's why" category rather than in the "Never the right choice" category with things like powercards or e-cool.

Which, whatever, noobs can search and do their reading and come to their own conclusions.

Tidy install. Aesthetic appeal > good numbers.

I named no one. I am not questioning your knowledge about turbos on street cars. You, and the others named, are a wealth of knowledge in turbo-charging Miatas. I know I have probably PM'd all those mentioned, including you, with questions about something or another over the years. You just believe your choice in FI is best and those who don't follow your chosen route are not as smart as you.

Tell me about your experience with tracking a FI Miata for five 30 minute sessions a day, in the summer, and never sitting out a session. I do it. dcamp2 does it (except he does it way faster than me).

18psi 12-02-2015 01:30 PM

Ha, but never have any of us made claims that it sucks for the track, or for you, or whatever it is y'all crying about. See that's the thing, y'all start crying, but when the facts are put on the table, there is nothing to cry about. It's ok though, it usually gets better after 3-5 days.

ps: word of the morning, y'all

tomiboy 12-02-2015 02:24 PM

So you don't track your car and you are giving us advice HAHA. Afraid the wind might blow up your skirt at those speeds?

18psi 12-02-2015 02:58 PM

*edit: I also love your edit of post above trying to lure me into a track discussion, cause you finally figured out how trolling works. atta-boy :)
