Never mind. I found the original thread I was asking for.

 

I've heard there are different shifters for different years - the 5 speed works in some, but not all. Therefor, I assume if you have the wrong 6 speed short shifter, it'll... not work?

I'm curious which you got, and any distinguishing marks/info on the tranny... And if it works.
