I know Xidas are king, but what if you just want a slight improvement over stock?

circa 2013 yes. Steel twin tube, China Same supplier. We ended up canceling production at the last minute because the factory was unable to meet certain QC targets and process control.
vmaxx, AST and Tractive are all in the Netherlands so they know of each other. Ironic that.
Since then we've gone through evaluation with a few other suppliers. We have settled on a supplier in Taiwan, aluminum fixed-length monotube. Much of the evaluation process has not been "can you make the shock?" but, "how will you make them?" Process control. It's been difficult to manage production engineering for all of the various components before we even begin testing shocks. Obviously, seven years later, it has not been our top priority. But we're currently at a stage where we should have the first set of prototypes here within the next 6 weeks and maybe production shocks on the shelf and ready to ship by the end of summer 2020. That is if we don't encounter any major obstacles. We'll see.
