Go away yourself if you cant answer properly.

Ok champ, I'll take one more swing. ;)

It is 100% impossible to get "exactly" the same suspension travel you have now. Can't be done. If you want it to the millimeter, it's not gonna happen. If you want it to the nearest 1/16th of an inch, it ain't gonna happen. Sorry to tell you this, but changing one part of a system leads to changes in other parts of that system.

Your best bet if you want "about" the same amount is to use NB tophats.... you gain slightly more travel, while lowering the car.

This being said, if you gain a slight amount of travel, you will retain100% of stock travel. Since you have gained travel, you have still retained stock levels of travel, while adding more.

How's that sound to you. :D

Well, my time here is up - GOODBYE LOSERS!

Proof again that miata people have become emotional RICERS just like the old Honda crowd. Keep lowering your cars and posting 8000 responses on the internet...

bye!

moderator delete my account and ban my IP - wont be back!

I ask a simple question - I get emotional sheeple responses...

Is today stupid douche noob day? Seriously what the fuck? Hey fucker your question was already answered. Stop being a fucktard. :gtfo:

NA6C-Guy 11-28-2010 02:47 AM

So I'm still missing why keeping EXACT stock travel the same is so important to you? And why you think the stock suspension is PERFECT! Perfection is in the eye of the beholder, and what Mazda made for the Miata is FAR from perfect to most.

This shit isn't rocket science. The NB mounts are probably all you need if you just want to lower it a little and still keep the same travel. All you are doing is moving the entire assembly further up, or the car further down. Suspension geometry will change a bit, but actual shock travel should remain the same.

That being said, I hope you aren't a permanent edition to this forum, your first posts have been absolutely retarded and you don't seem like you are likely to contribute anything to this site other than being annoying, and we already have enough of those spots filled.

n/m ^ Good, he will be gone. Pretty sure his stupid fucking question was already answered several times. Poor ricers, we all are.

Oh well, at least if we see him on the streets, we'll know our "follow the sheple" suspension will be faster than his blown stock shit. :giggle:

Did you actually think that you could perfectly retain travel distances on a set of blown OEM shocks? (If they have 50k miles on them, they're blown). Seriously? I can't believe anyone would actually ask that..... It seems like a "duh" answer to everyone here... and you didn't have to feed the flames throughout the process. I can see why you don't like miata.net. :D

Troll. :ban?:

As stated in the OP - you will be going much slower than I due to your inability to push the limit (know when you're about to skid out) common sense for 1989 maza engineers, but elusive rocket science for 2010 closet ricers with mini-springs and painted tow hooks...

..never thought the sports car world would get this douch-baggy... first honda now mazda... I can heart the corvette and lotus people now .."hey dude you gotta like drop it an inch to get rid of all the 4X4 suspension travel - get with the timess broooooo".

You're not a noob, you know exactly what you're doing. You're trolling and tring to start a sprialing thread for fun.

Lowering springs are pointless, since the are not matched to the dampening of most shocks and are too soft for the drop they provide. That is common knowledge. Anyone who thinks that some lowering springs on OEM shocks is a good idea needs their head examined.....

And what the hell is a "forum sheep"?

kotomile 11-28-2010 02:59 AM

So did anyone look at this whackjob's site? Holy hell, talk about issues..

The guy is selling a $95 book, full of typos and run-on sentences (yeah, I fucking noticed, I'm not going to curl up into a "fecal (sic) position") that he only accepts cash or "blank money order" for, and refuses to sell to "bitches", while calling himself "The Honorable djhives"

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b8JDTbKJd_.../bookpage2.JPG
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b8JDTbKJd_.../bookpage2.JPG

This guy's a troll even when he's not on a forum!

But hey, if this book thing doesn't pan out, you could always design race cars. I'm sure they're dying to hear your ideas.

buffon01 11-28-2010 03:00 AM

You're an imbecile.

dude, get a life - I asked an anser 18psi got UPSET rather than answering yes or no - and here you are talking about blown shocks -- NOBODY ever said I have blown shocks - in fact SHOCKS have nothing to do with the question - only ride height and thus spring height. You people get too emotional over the lower vs dont lower 'argument'.

I like BOTH but I dont get E-motional like lowered people do...

:noob:

was this a set up all along???

Jackson is that you?

This fucking guy has to be a troll from CR or something.

He can tell none of us know how to drive based on the fact that we don't like the stock Miata suspension... logical... :loser:

hahahahahahahahhahahahahaha:laugh:

You're an idiot, I'm almost done with this. :D

The OEM stuff you're on is blown, plain and simple. It is not doing it's job as Mazda intended. Mazda compromised for comfort in the miatas suspension. Lowering increases the limits of the car, but makes those limits no quite a clear.... much like race tires. Street tires give you a good amount of information before they let go, race tires and r-comps are more on/off. Your suspension is limiting you, but it's more communicative, so you assume that is better.

You don't want "slammed". You want about 1.5 inches lower.... read up on roll centers, center of gravity, and lateral loads.... maybe you'll learn something ;)

EDIT: Shocks can affect total travel, so they are part of this discussion. ;)
