I still think this would be great with a UUC Evo3 shifter. metal ball/height adjustment. Impatiently awaiting the kit release while simultaneously searching for local transmissions.

I know it's still early days, but for us folks outside the US, will shipping costs and import duty for this kit be wild?
(UK for me) ...Looking at boxes now :D |
CAE Shifter compatible? I absolutely love mine in my E46 M3. You all are making me want a Miata bad.

Join date 2006, first post on hyper power level transmission solution. That hold out for this day is amazing.
Well done. |
That wait beats Ham's Nexen N'fera thread derail lol

Following!
We were just about to pick up a 6 speed...Eff that BS! My poor kid is going to have to get a 3rd job now! Do it once and do it right! He is getting tired of hearing that line :) Great work KMiata! |

(UK for me) ...Looking at boxes now :D In the trunk of a car in a container is always the cheapest, but for all normal cases count on $100+ in shipping and add VAT on top of that, as with any part that don't fit in a jiffy bag. |
You folks across the pond should find a big local performance shop willing to bring the kits over on a bloody boat.
|
This may not be the thread to clamor for things.... but the rear miata diff mounting solution caught my eye.
What sort of chance is there that we might see a similar trans mount solution for an oem Miata 6spd? Because reasons. |

Or if KMiata have any distribution deals on the go :naughty: |
Who thinks that there isn't a constant flow of cans from both coasts?
It's just the delivery time isn't always optimal. Some delay from the reputable shop and you miss the shipping date of the can and have to wait for the next one. My west cost contact ships about 4-6 cans per year, and race in the same series. When the USD was only 2/3 of what it's now, the shipping of 50-60 restoration objects were frantic. Katrina salvages was also a boom. |
What are the chances that this would work with a miata twin disc flywheel, and a bmw pressure plate and clutch disc. a 7.25" disc would fit on the comp clutch flywheel, but i dont know about the pressure plate.
Now that would be crazy. |

Cool. Thats been the one thing holding me back. 13.5lbs doesnt seem like a lot for a flywheel. But when you are used to a 949 twin disc....its heavy.

Ok cool. It's now a twin disc with a 13.5lb flywheel. Which is exactly what I wanted...

Swapped in the Z4M shifter and I'm quite pleased. Size, shape, and throw is similar to stock. When you shift it, you can tell there is something a lot more stout down there.
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/11...G?v=1492543406 I MUCH prefer the factory shifter feel with new factory rubber bushings to any kind of short shifter with metal bushings. The rubber removes the harsh vibrations and makes shifting way more comfortable. There's a certain "slamminess" or shock with metal bushings that isn't pleasant to your elbow joint. |

Easy peasy, their plate looks like it mounts a miata starter in the miata position. So leave the 949 flywheel on your BP. Just get disks with the right spline and order the correct TOB from tilton/quartmaster/etc, and you're good to go.

I wonder if there's a button flywheel that uses the Miata crank pattern. Then you sandwich that flywheel up against an automatic flex plate (I'm unfamiliar with Miata autos and don't know if they have the standard thin flex plate like the 'Merican world). My 5.5" LS1 button flywheel weighs like 2 lbs, then I'm not sure about the flex plate. Also, hydraulic release bearings aren't shitty, just inconvenient that they're embedded in the bellhousing. I'm super excited to get mine running to feel the AP Racing release bearing, I've read several accounts of how much less hysteresis there is than a typical production style slave cylinder and the pedal feel is awesome.
