Hmmm. Did you pull that picture or am I going crazy.
The mount in the picture is far from the final production piece, so I'll post pictures once the final part is in the car. |
Good, thought I was loosing my mind.

PPFs are gross and we could get away with less aggro motor/diff mounts while still having less driveline slop.
Less weight. More room for exhaust. Less things on car. Bonus points for giving multiple mounting points for use with V8R setback engine mounts. You know... since you guys are already going to be making mount kits for Miata diffs. :) |

I have a hard time believing the PPF weighs more than frame rails and two extra mounts, one which is fairly big. And the PPF is 1 thing with 5 bolts, you want to replace it with 4 things with like 30 bolts, how is that less things. And you have less room for exhaust where the tranny mount is vs the PPF.
Do you have a picture of this tranny mount that doesn't currently exist? Or did you really just want to contend the least important reason for the want? |

No, but I know what it would look like. There is a reason I choose to retain the PPF with the T5, and its not due to lazyness or not being able to use frame rail braces.

Don't worry it's all good! Not speaking for K-Miata, but you can bet that David is hard at work on this and vigorous testing and updates will be shared as they become available. |

I also ordered a turbo for the K20 setup yesterday. This setup is going to be no joke. |
Count me in for a 450hp miata.
|
just curious - with all this ability to handle torkz, why turbo a k20 vs a k24? 24 = MOAR!

Keep in mind, we're wanting to make some pretty big power out of this setup. Plenty of customers will do well with a $200 Accord or CRV engine making an easy 400+whp. But to see around 600whp from a stock block, the k20 is the answer. Maybe we'll build a sleeved k24 bottom end at some point, and crank up the boost. Because a 1000whp Miata would be hilarious, even if it serves no practical purpose. |

 On a serious note, the build would serve as pretty good advertising for your brand! |

Dual hoosiers for each rear shoe to get the power down?
 On a serious note, the build would serve as pretty good advertising for your brand! Huge power like that would certainly be good for advertising, which is why it's not out of the question. |
