That sounds more like bluetooth problems than the GPS itself...?

The GPS unit we tested was terrible. It was okay on the street but on the track it couldn't keep up and would constantly drop the speedo to zero and then it would jump back up. The current setup with the ABS sensor is perfect, and better than stock because it's calibrated perfectly.

What fluid do you recommend putting in the getrag diff as well as the ZF 5 speed?

EDIT: Found a recommendation for Redline D4 ATF in your installation manual. Still the best stuff?

I fully intend to do this once I blow up my next transmission.

For those of us that have expensive upgraded diffs already on the ppf, any off the shelf solutions for mounting once the ppf goes away? I was thinking I could just chop off the rear section of the ppf and brace it a little better against rotation, but I'm painfully aware of my limitations at designing stuff like this. Also I have modest fabrication skills and the house I live in can't support the current draw of a welder.

I really doubt that. I've seen someone run the HF splatter gun off a 1kw honda generator. And I ran my tig off a standard 15amp 115v outlet for years.

My air compressor trips the breakers here. This house is nearly 100 years old and it was wired by retarded monkeys.

If you can run an air compressor you've got more than enough juice to run a welder.

Then why do all the welding rigs recommend 220v with 50A fuses? I have nothing close to that. Or is that just typical lawyer ass covering?

You're looking at wayyyy to big of welders.

It depends on the thickness of metal you want to weld. 110 is probably plenty for the average home car fab stuff.

This is happening right now. Full bolt-in Miata diff mount is on the way. We have a spare rear subframe and diff in the shop specifically for this project. It's the next product you'll see from KMiata (in addition to the E46 6-speed trans kit).

I think the E46 6-speed + rear diff mount is going to be a really nice setup for the street car guys because if you're running a Miata 6-speed currently, the BMW 6-speed ratios are comparable and it will pair well to whatever rear end gear is already in the car.

Yup, D4 ATF is still my recommendation. We've been keeping it in stock here, just need to get it added to the website.

Edit: for the diff, go with a 75w90 synthetic like Valvoline or Mobil1, whatever the parts store has. Most of them come with the limited slip additive. We've also added the ACDelco LSD additive, and tried it without it. I don't have anything concrete saying that the additional additive does anything more than the stuff already in the fluid. Either way seems to work fine.

Whats the timeline on the production ready units? I'm going to need this this winter, would be nice to not have to drop my subframe and weld on it.

Are there plans to make an adapter plate/flywheel for the duratec/mzr to zf 6 speed at any point?

I don't want to throw out a timeline right now, but it's in the works and as you can tell we don't sit around on projects like this. I want it done, tested, and on the market ASAP though because we are being asked about it constantly.
