Stewart Development revalved Bilstein group buy feeler
I'm interested in this. I was looking at the FCM set up and found it interesting, however I have a few questions. I want a full set up, shocks, springs, bump stops, everything. I'm on 50k miles stock suspension and I want to change everything.
I'm on stock power and wheels right now, but that's going to change in the future. Will that affect the revalve specs? (meaning I'm screwed once I make the improvements). I was gonna go for wheels first, but if this is such a good deal, I might as well start with the suspension.

Be honest with your future goals. IS this going to be a DD with some track or a dedicated track car. Check my "break down spring rates" thread. Good info about what spring rates work for what. I've got the old FM springs F342/R228 and Bernie told me to keep them for my needs.
You WILL need to pick a spring rate to valve the shocks. Call Bernie for the specific data he will need for the revalve.
Let me know if you want to be put on the list.
Everyone in the group buy should start collecting this information for their order.
"All I basically need from them is a note in the box with a name and phone number. In the note include the spring rates front and rear, sway bar size front and rear, ride height, and their intent with the car."
Obviously if you are not sending in shocks, then you will need to provide this information on the phone when you call to order.

Anyone know what spring rates the SM valving is built for?
I mean, SM is 700/300? or is it 325. But... i'm 700/400... and might go stiffer
. Dammit... I think I'd need custom valving.

Are they able to do valving that takes into consideration a car is dual purpose? Street and track day car? What's needed for a dedicated track car isn't nessasarily what we'd want for the street.
I asked Bernie specifically if the setup I am getting would still allow me to be competitive on a track (my setup will be primary DD, with occasional DE). The answer was definitely.

I have heard this too. For the same monies I would go with Steward seeing as Shaikh is sending his customers there and not recommending Bilsteinusa. Plus it seems they know what they are doing.
Will measuring from the center of the wheel to the lip not work? This is the typical way to do it and eliminate the tire's aspect ratio from the equation, No? Not sure how Bernie prefers his measurements.
This info I posted was straight from Bernie. I didn't know where to measure from so I had to ask.
How is one supposed to know ride height when they don't have adjustable suspension yet? I plan to run something around 12.5R and 12F but I don't know what this will be in any other measurement.
Im most likely going to join in on this groupbuy.
An extra note. They offer shock body shortening for 30 per corner for 1". More than that is another 25 I think he said due to shaft shortening and other things.
I'll be doing used shocks... custom revalve and a shock shortening.

I'm debating whether I want the ISC racing 1.5" hats in the rear, or the shocks shortened. I think both would be too much travel with a modest spring rate. (I want to trade my 400lb front springs for 500-550lb and I run a 300lb rear.)
Not sure about what shock length tophat for the fronts though..
What benefits are their of shortened shocks? I guess it depends where they are cut also(above or below the spring perch).
-Above would net better bump travel correct?
-Below would basically lower the ride height without affecting bump travel or preload?
Which tophats will you be using? I'm curious because I know there is not much room between the top of my bilsteins and my FCM tophats at about 12.25". I have pics somewhere but I'm too lazy to post them again.
