Either you weigh a hell of a lot more than 170, or your numbers are a bit off...

Damn, ninja edit strikes again!

1300 pounds and 300+HP would be one hell of a ride!

Build incredibly clean Miata? Check.
Use it as a lunch table? Check.

I can tell you first hand... you've got to get this one under control. I keep a note pad next to my bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow my brain is going 1000mph. I let it happen for an hour and make notes. It's usually a fantastic brain storming session and some of my best decisions have spawned from those notes. After that first hour, it's time to take a step back from life, business, relationships and just think about nothing. Let your brain rest. Hell, we'd probably all benefit from doing this a couple of times throughout the day but most of us don't have the opportunity. Don't let your busy life take over your time of rest. End of mushy bromantic feeling advice.

He didn't stall it either, I was so proud. I was actually impressed The Russian could fit in my seats!

His car, although dirty, was stupidly clean(screw you it makes sense)

Also, funny enough, was the only one that worked properly that day. Dan and his unfortunate issues, ed, and his fuel pump bullshit and sudden tail light failure(20 watt fuse in a 15 watt fuse spot), EO2K and his IAT annoyance, and my car hating being at sea level with the VEAL map.

Ed drove my clutch better than I did, which made me a little angry!

Sadly enough, I had to drive home last night. Employee broke the $600 mixer attachment by putting it on the drive shaft at an angle and snapped the head off it. Had to hurriedly drive to Vegas and beg the supplier to let me in at 1am so I didn't have angry customers and wholesale guys at me.

So I drove 9 hours out there, had a blast with all the MT.net guys, made fun of all the wine & cheesers and CR.net cars. Dan and I hung out with Andrew from TSE who looked bored out of his damn mind and looked tired of answering questions to the general ignorant populace(had his track car at the photo shoot event), drove around Laguna seca for a little bit(pit access road, not the actual track), helped Ed put in his new fuel pump, and drove back, all in a 30 hours time period.

I'm fried...epic nap time engage!

I now get why people have the gay little info cards on their cars dashboard about all the little things they've done to their car. After answering a billion questions from different people I got tired of it pretty fast and even tried to get Vlad's friend to act like the owner and answer the question with generic Russian statements.

Ignoring my pessimism about discussing the car, it was totally cool to see the positive response from total strangers who haven't watched the entire car build like you all have. Everyone loved the color, and several had a splooge moment when the hood was popped.

We NT.netters need to get together occasionally for **** like this. It was a blast. I'm just sad I had to bail on Dan, I hope he got access to another car for his morning heat.

Also nice shot of my shaved calves EO2K. #bicyclistforever.

Tad and I found out our car modding g tastes and sports are too similar. Also he I not a 40+ year old man like I originally thought.

Ed is...Ed. Vlad is Vlad. EO2K was a surprise, didn't have that image in my head.

Hey, if it got you to actually sleep for once, maybe it was a good thing? I'm just glad you made it home in one piece. Ed and I traded texts last night and he was like "Jeff drove home" and my first thought was Oh jesus, I don't think he's slept for like 3 days. I hope he makes it OK.

Hahahaha! This is why you never meet people from the internet, completely ruins the magic I'm still pretty sure I was the oldest guy in the group?

no I just didnt expect the facial hair and the "born and raised in Oregon motif"(not being insulting).

I tried playing it off to Ed and Dan that it was just part of owning a business so I wasn't mad but after I got him I was pissed I missed today.

Couldn't make myself have an employee drive to vegas at 1am and meet in a creepy warehouse district to pick up a part though. Most of my employees are female and I have a guardian/father complex about protecting them(mostly due to them being innocent and naive Mormon girls).

The day I was there was epic fun though.

Sadly I think the 20+ hours of driving affected my car somehow. When I got to vegas my oil pressure at 3-4k was reading 37psi and at idle it was lower than 10psi. Checked my oil and it was reading on the low line on the dipstick.

Don't want to find out where all that oil went to.

Once the oil gets hot enough and thins out, oil pressure will drop. it will probably be back where it was after sitting overnight on a fresh start.

ALL cars consume oil to some extent, how many miles did you put on it? reading low on the dipstick isnt so terrible after 2-3k miles, but if it was closer to 1k you might have an issue.

Good point, I just hadn't seen the pressure drop below 40 before.

I checked the oil separator and it was actually filled with a lot of fluid which was 90%-gas 10%-oil. Must have run really rich at some point?

It has been about 2k since I last checked the oil. Going to change it and the oil filter today just to be on the safe side.

Also going to check my intercooler pipes to see if there is a decent amount of oil in there. Might have a turbo seal that is bad.

I'm not sure how bad it is, but some oil blowby is expected when you've been driving for thousands of miles and boosting quite a bit of those miles while hooning around with us on friday haha

Also YES, you were running quite a bit rich. I even mentioned to you when we pulled into Office Depot that you were blowing black smoke when you hit full boost. Since your AFR's were thrown off by the alt/temp changes that is also to be expected.

Clean everything up, look everything over, and as long as your tune is back to normal you might be ok. Don't start replacing stuff just yet lol

FTFY.

Alarm is premature. "F" to "L" in a Miata is less than a quart. That much in 2K miles sounds pretty good, especially considering the fun you've been having. You should be checking your oil more often though.

THIS. I know your a perfectionist and all, but I'd be pretty happy with less than a quart in ~2k of mixed daily/hard driving.

She is making a lot of power out of that little 1.8 .

Good call on the not freaking out thing. AFR is back to normal now that I've gotten back home.

Weird thing is I'm smelling gas a lot lately, even though I have no oddly rich cells in VEAL. Checked the fuel lines and nothing is leaking...where the hell is that smell coming from?
