All makes sense. the peak number difference is probably attributable to different dyno type.
As promised finally tune compete been having a riot driving this insane little car. I'm blown away. The irony of all of this is that I had never driven a Miata till this car. So I've yet to drive a stock Miata or any other for that matter haha.

Thanks to Shawn at JEM Sport automotive here in Jackson Michigan for snapping these while I was visiting the dyno shop nerding out. 700 miles on the build and still a blasty blast to drive. Ripper!

Every clean fast Kraken setup makes me regret my Rotrex haha, this looks wicked quick.
I remember reading this thread back when I joined MT. It's good to see this car back up and running. Solid work man.

I had 1300 miles on it of pure unadulterated driving pleasssssure. I was pretty proud of how my first engine build ran flawlessly. Last spring on a drive I flipped it over and wrapped it around a tree and totaled the car.

The old megasquirt and Jeff’s janky wiring job fried the ECU and my wife towed me home in shame. It’s currently getting a brand new wiring harness built and a Link extreme ECU installed with new ignition harness and fuse blocks. I’m running a flex fuel sensor and converting to e85. I also converted it to a single piece manifold and grams 70mm drive by wire throttle body. Using a pedal from a 2013 Honda fit. Purely a case of while you’re in there but I’m building it better. Faster. Stronger. Super stoked on v4.0 or whatever iteration this car will be now!
I have an old cracked hood that I'm going to use to try and prototype something....It looked like I might even be able to use the stock hood if I trim the inside...I don't have the car here or I'd snap a pic of it on there.
Really cool. Glad to see this car is still being loved, and better yet, getting sweet upgrades. The link should be awesome, following to see how it goes for you.
It's awesome how it still lives. Just so everyone is up to speed my brother Jeff originally started this build thread until circumstances made it untenable to rebuild it after a catastrophic engine failure. I flew out across the country bought the shell and totes full of **** and bolts and parts in southern Utah and hauled it on a trailer to Michigan where I live. It was an epic road trip to haul the old thing over the continental divide in a 2001 tundra with no brakes with my dad. We only managed to make it in four wheel low up to the crest and down again.....what a trip.
Sweet, thanks for the update. There was a good period there when Jeff just.. disappeared, and everyone here was pretty worried about him. Makes me glad to see that you were able to keep it in the family, because one thing I can say is that Jeff poured an insane amount of time and money into that car when he was first building it. It's a sick car, about as nice as any I've seen, so good on ya!
I just looked at when this thread was started, I remember it like it was yesterday, but it was more than 10 years ago. Time's a cruel bitch. Hope all is well with Jeff nowdays.
