Would it be unwise just to try these settings as a baseline? I will tune the idle with open loop correctly but it might be worth a shot, right?

Hey Jeff . . . I'm going to the track with the red car this weekend. Pick up the pace homeboy!

You can always start in "warmup only" mode (electronic equivalent of an idle screw on a Holley) and then gently delve into closed loop.

His settings are pretty similar to mine. Except I have much lower PID values, 45/25/5 IIRC. I think in general, it would but a decent place to start.

This is also a good option. I actually used warmup mode for about 4 months before I tuned closed loop. Your idle will dip a bit when you use power windows/headlights/anything that draws decent current, but otherwise its pretty steady. And also super easy to set up.

Right? I've taken this entire week off. It is just what I needed. I was getting to the point where I didn't want to touch the car so I decided it was best to take a break for a while to clear my head.

You've done so much quality work in record time Hornet. You work faster than I do man! You have a GoPro set up in the car right? I can't wait to see some videos.

Warm up only mode is what I was referring to earlier but forgot the exact name, going to start messing with that this weekend. My business is closed Monday for Memorial Day so I'll have some extra time to work on it.
Also, Revlimiter made me a sweet badge for the front bumper and also got my oil pressure face finished to match the other 2 gauges. I'll take some pictures when I get down there.

I think the car gods and my body are conspiring against me. I had planned on working on the car over Memorial Day weekend but I had a pretty nasty pinched nerve in my neck that started Friday night and only muscle relaxers and a visit to the Chiropractor helped make me functional(barely) today.

I did get some small cosmetic things done though.

Ordered the Version 5 emblem for the front bumper. Revlimiter started making them and they are very high quality for how cheap they are. The "real" ones go for some ludicrous $150+ on the Rev9 site, and there is no way in hell I'm paying that much for an emblem. I think I paid around $40-45 due to the black background color I specified. Originally this version comes with a blue background, but due to Curly's reaction from my shock tower braces, I decided to play it smart this time!

The trim and base are real metal, not the cheap plastic chrome stuff you get through most. He spent a ton of time getting the right clear plastic that wouldn't oxidize and turn yellow like cheaper plastics tend to. He called a solar panel company and asked what they used to coat their panels! He uses nice quality 3m tape instead of the plastic prongs that go through the holes.

Headlight panels are on loose so it looks a little shoddy.

Several months ago Rleete generously bought me some Miata stickers for the door sill plates. Just never got around to putting them on. When they powdercoated it they made the sticker window a little smaller than normal so part of the sticker overlaps, but you can't even really see it.

Revlimiter, in a joke thread on CR.net, made these stickers playing on the stupid "illest" stickers my generation put on their cars. He sent a couple in one of my orders a while back and after reading the Honda kid thread, it reminded me how damn funny these are. I couldn't resist slapping it on the radiator finish panel.

That's all until I can manage to turn my head more than a couple inches.

That makes me giggle a little bit, only because of all the stickers like that I see plastered on.. 90% of my friends cars. It's good to see you're still getting some stuff done even when crippled.

If you go to CR.net for just one thread the rest of your life, make it this one.

That thread was the most fun I've had on CR for YEARS. Woolery is to be commended.

And thanks for the badge pix Jeff! Your car is looking prooty hot.

Here's my studio shot of your black V badge.

I hope its because the car is running, and he's too busy driving it to post updates.

I hope.

Might also be, that he polished through his fingertips and isn't able to type on a keyboard anymore...

It's bread harvesting season, and he's out in the fields all day.

This unfortunately. I wish EO2K's comment was the reason, but sadly not.

I had some issues with an employee so I'm covering shifts till I can find someone who doesn't habitually lie. On top of being the busy time of the year, I haven't had the energy to go down south.

Last couple weekends I have had some cousins in town too so I was obligated to see them since they live in Hawaii.

Hopefully this weekend after a long sleep I'll have time to. Concealer gave me his tune since we have similar cars so I'm going to pull some settings from his tune after I get the idle perfect in warm up only mode.

Trust me, its driving me crazy not having the energy to work on it.

So hows the tuning going? You know you can get a good closed loop idle tune just sitting in the seat without straining. Thats my favorite part about a build is the tuning. Its not dirty and you dont have to bend in weird positions and can achieve great things
