97 Montego sr20 t25 Turbo Build
I heard from the shop yesterday. Things were going smoothly but they needed one more day. They were closed today, so it should be finished and ready for tuning tomorrow.
So, yesterday brought on a problem. Right off the bat, the car would not start. It was troubleshooted down to the Megasquirt not receiving any indication of RPMs. The megasquirt I'm using is a DIYPNP 2. We believe that we have narrowed down the problem to the CAS, which sends the RPMs to the ECU. The harness is pinning back to the MS correctly. Everything else is working correctly on the MS; reading IAT, running the fuel pump, triggering the injectors, etc.
Before I started the turbo build, I was getting a P0300 CEL, which I thought was coming from the Crank Position Sensor. I am hoping that I was wrong all along, and that the CEL was coming from the CAS. Through some research, I have found some cases that a stock ECU can run off of a failing CAS, but the Megasquirt will not work. Tomorrow they will be swapping in a working CAS to see if that is the problem. If that is not the problem, than it looks like its a problem with the Megasquirt. I bought the MS preowned, but it was believed to be new. It was all in the original plastics, and the IAT and other pieces were still brand new and never assembled.
Fingers crossed for a positive update tomorrow.

Damn. Best of luck. Been watching every update on this thread. I had a CEL from my CAS but was on a stock ECU, replacing the CAS made the CEL go away and it hasn't come back. Hope that gives you some hope.
Well, after swapping in a working CAS, the problem still remains. I have created a thread for this in the MS section.

Saw your post on my build thread so I figured I'd stop over and see how things were going for you. Sorry to see you're having some ECU trouble - hopefully the guys at DIY can help. The build looks good though, nice work. It will all be worth it when it's done.
Couldn't help but notice the two cases of Lager in post #60. Nice.

And we hoard Yeungling up here like its during prohibition. My roommate was in PA a month or so ago and he came back with like 11 cases
Well today I received the best news that I could have received, I suppose. After some troubleshooting and back-and-forth with DIY, they have asked me to send the MSPNP in for warranty repairs. Hopefully the turnaround time is quick. I can't wait to drive this car.
DIY received the MS on December 20th. I have not gotten an update from them since :( Hopefully this process doesn't take much longer, it has already been very drawn out. The communication from DIY has been pretty sub-par.
