Today we updated the rear of Donkey with a tubular rear subframe and X-Lite rear upper control arms. Hope to have it back on the ground and on the dyno early next week
Stiffer, incorporates the differential mounts, more room for exhaust. We no longer use the PPF so the front mount for the differential is on the subframe as well. When V8R releases the subframe it will be available with the mounts for the differentials used in the LS and LFX swaps
Did you fab the rear subframe yourself? I don't know of any vendor that sells them.
It may not be obvious, but unk557 there is V8Roadsters

Love it. My notes show the Getrag mount kit is ~9.5 lbs, which is on top of the stock subframe weight so this subframe probably has a good shot at saving Getrag guys a chunk of weight.

Might be a stupid question, but the wording is confusing my dumb ***. Does this mean that the subframe will not be offered for the standard NA/NB differentials? Ditching the PPF and gaining some rigidity would be lovely, and I'm sure anyone swapping an engine with native passenger-side exhaust routing that is still planning on retaining the stock differential housing would rejoice (K series swappers).
EDIT: Did some thinking and realized that using the stock transmission would require some sort of chassis-to-transmission brace to be able to remove the PPF. I got excited, and now I'm sad.

You still probably want to have the exhaust cross over to the drivers side, theres more room to get past the tranny and you wont have to worry about moving the fuel filter and stuff.
I'll talk to Shandelle and see if there will be a version for the stock differential and maintaining the PPF.
This car being what it is, it no longer has a PPF, instead it has a transmission crossmember like we use in the V8 &V6 conversions. Next time it is on the lift, I'll get some pics of the entire bottom side

Full disclosure, UNK is Brian, who would be a v8 roadsters employee if he didn't already have a job with a pension. :P shandelle is v8roadsters. he's the one making all this cool stuff.

This would be absolutely amazing if you could make this happen, I know myself and Psyber have already been drooling over the idea of one. So please make this happen! Im waiting on my front subframe from you guys right now, cant wait

I was conversing with the guy who used to have the blue LS powered track NB who is now building a LFX car (can't remember his name) again at MATG this year and he mentioned a possible group buy to kick the rear subframe project into high gear and get them on the market. Any word on if/when that can/will happen?
Finally got around to putting the front splitter on. Still have to open up the ducting for the radiator. It will get put to use next weekend at Gridlife South.
