Luckily our friends at Feal came out with coilover kit (still have to weld threaded tubes) for the Z cars. Finally don't have the garbage chinese shock as the only go to coilover. Wilwood superlites up front and some kind of disc in back. Big and sticky tires. Should be a really fun car.
It also is fuel injected with AC, but it is a '75 so no smog

5-speed from a 77-78 is a fantastic upgrade. I think I have a seat kit in the garage rafters someplace if you are interested.

There were chinese struts for those? I thought the hot ticket was always 3000GT bilsteins in the stock strut housing with coil over sleeves.

Lol. Taking it back to the day of GC! Well, BC and Stance came out with kits for the Z, basically a coilover kit without camber plates with replacement threaded strut tubes ready to be welded onto the knuckles, with camber plates you were nearing or over $2000.
I used to have one... for at least a year, me and my buddies jumped that thing on a super sketchy dirt road. That thing saw 100+ landings from 5 ft. in the air. Damn that was fun. I ended up overshooting a turn on that dirt road, front right side straight into a dirt wall at like 40 mph. Not a scratch on me. I cant believe i survived my twenties...
I am surprised I can't find any significant rust on this Z, I was expecting some, but I can find any holes or iffy areas, it is crazy, been underneath all of it checking everything. Only issue spot is the spare tire area that has heavier surface rust than just very light dust, but that's an easy chop and replace when I get to that phase.
First move is mostly complete, make it a competent city car. Now I will focus on getting some things like window roller (rubber roller to keep the window from bouncing off the door), new ignition switch, maybe find a new headlight bucket for the driver side.
Then we get into the fun stuff, coilovers, control arms and brakes.

Blasphemy? Maybe. But, straight 6, smooth, cheap and reliable motor, have easy access to them. Strong gear box.. Similar style motor and trans mounts that line up very well with the stock pick up points, shifter lines up, both rear sump. Turbo future options.
Amazing old car stuff. I went to adjust the timing, tried to loosen the adjustment bolt, head sheared off without effort, okay, no big deal. Started to easy out the old bolt, and the distributor mount (cast aluminum, bolts onto block, distributor mounts to mount) SNAPPED in half
I should have just drilled the thing out to a bigger bolt and use a bolt and nut, which is what I will do for the used one I found.
Not much on Zs but I have worked extensively on my lady's '56 f100, '66 jeep gladiator and a '69 GTO, bolts breaking is just apart of the job! No worries, just build it better!
Although, going back and reading and realizing you mentioned having most everything lined up (and the Getrag to boot) makes the fab process so much easier.
But.....DAT RB 9.5K T51R orgasm dough!!!!! I would sink an extra few weeks of fab time to hit dat RB!
