I would never support the old german turdbucket swap, sorry. Obv your car tho so do what you want. Seems like a huge waste swapping basically a 6cyl BP into it when your options are literally limitless

Built RBs can be had. Swap kits abound for directly dropping a RB into a Z. Mount kits including new subframes ready to rock. Literally boltup front subframe with RB mounts can be had to knock off almost all the serious fab work.

However, I would usher you to a 2JZ if you don't like . Cheap to be had, LOTS of aftermarket. Bottom end for 700 WHP (on stock rods/pistons). Throw a Getrag from a BMW, a R200 rear diff/subframe swap and you are rocking! That's a week or so (8 hour work days) to bolt it all in by yourself. Less with some beer.....

Just never been a fan of the old Bimmer engines (VANOS, sound, head lifting, etc). But that is just personal opinion.....and they are like ******** .

Sorry for the rant. I am a Nissan guy through and through

It may suck comparatively, but it's a strong long-lived motor that isn't anywhere in the same galaxy as BP suckiness. If he's strapping a snail to it, it'll make more power than that old crappy chassis will handle, without being opened.

That all said, i wouldn't swap this thing at all, but it's not my car.

Realizing the S52 makes same peak power with similar torque to a K24a2...

I thought you were in my area, did you move?
If you are here, I got some crazy rotary stuff. Boosted 20B maybe?

Just do whatever you want, RB or JZ sounds nice.

Sorry

Hopefully their quality of copying other peoples designs has improved. I had one of their panhard bars on my AE86 years ago and its seized on me when the aluminum spacers crushed at the recommend torque.

Have you watched any of Home Built by Jeff's videos on YouTube?
He's restoring an old Z right now.
He does really good work out of his garage.
