Neither him nor jtothewhat have "pushed" anything anywhere yet. Until they beat the 700-800hp records previously set by the true BP pioneers all they're doing is spending a shitton of money.

Which is cool to watch for sure

With enough money, just about any modern engine can make big numbers for a few minutes before it eats itself.

The problem with your argument is that you are basing it off what you would do, not off what Failflora would do. I am betting there is a hole in the side of his block or something crazy like that, that he is trying to patch with jbweld.
