How does it hang next to your s2000?

Edit: just saw your sig above.. that's no stock s2k! Nevermind this question in that case, lol. I was curious how the N/A fe3 would do against a stock s2k.

Going back to your swap...
Do you think having done it that a miata 5 speed would be able to be modified much like you did to your 6 speed to work on an FE3?

I havent seen a 6 speed in person to get a feel for the difference.

It's easier than that. You just need the bell housing (front section) from the B2XXX truck. Swap that in for the Miata's front section and you're good to go. I run the 5spd because I already had three of them- just got another at no cost.

I realize that.

If you look at my post here in the build thread section you will see that the budget for this car is tighter than a nuns underpants. Saving that from the budget would be great.

Tight budgets and swaps like this don't go hand-in-hand, never the less I managed to pull mine off on the uber cheap as I was in school at the time.

You could probably pull off the 5 speed but the front bell from the junkyard is only a a few bucks anyways (like mine was $50 and thats with canada tax on it) and it will save headaches Im sure.

Haha ya my Honda has her alittle out gunned.

My FE has taken out a few b18 swapped civics, nothing to impressive but still I was happy with it. Im sure a stock s2k would roll my miata in a drag race, but it wasn't intended to be fast by any means, hell my old motor made twice the power that it has now haha.

Don't forget that truck bell and van bell are different. One is twisted the other is flat.

We're not speaking of the big/R trans.

Are we speaking of a naturally aspirated engine on miataTurbo.net, then? :-/ Or someone with a penchant for pain, such as yourself :-)

Dyno day next monday (24th), time to bust out the det cans and see what this boat anchor can make!

Still running a stock 1.8 timing map so hopefully I can find a couple hp in the top end.

Any Q's lmk know. My FE3 is prolly the lowest mounted one I've seen to date, and as far back as it gets with out serious firewall abuse.

Did you ever post your dyno sheet on here? I see the numbers in your sig, but I didnt see the graph.

I may still be doing this swap.... hoping to do it all for $300.

There are a couple short ones,

My buddy driving, hence me not wanting him to crash it..lol

First drive at the track, low on fuel like a total newb.

Open lapping day on the indy track, started fourth last out of 25ish cars, lapped everyone but my buddy in the BRZ that started behind me.
