Yeah.. there's that.. I don't get to put that many miles on my car though, and I wash it a lot and take good care of it. Not sure if I would mind that much, but good point.

The way I see it is, if(when) I get annoyed with them I can plastidip them grey and rock that. Same with the rollbar, because its gonna be color matched to whatever wheels I go with.

Get black or that super dark blue. I'm kinda thinking it might look cool on your car

I like the white wheels and had a set on the previous car. It is a pain in the *** to clean though. I used to take them off of the car once a month and wash them inside out. Definitely love the look. Too bad the gold on blue is overdone (no thanks to STI's)!

I've always liked the black/grey carbotech brakedust on my wheels after a trackday. I think gunmetal looks great on a smurf car.

Gunmetal would be my wheel of choice. I think the dark blue "could" look good, but really not sure on that one..

My reasoning for the white is that I can plastidip the wheels ANY other color really, but if you plastidip wheels white they are impossible to clean due to the texture holding the brake dust. Also.. they are on ebay in the exact offset i want for only $440 shipped..

The other ones would be more like 500ish after shipping. Not a huge difference, but notable none the less.

I still like the white. Plus, I'm assuming once you're totally spruced up, you'll spend all your time polishing (rather than driving) the car and will trade your mt.net membership for a cr.net membership.

Damn, waited too long on those wheels. Was about to order them and realized the ebay seller also had the tires I wanted - sent the seller a message about doing a combo deal and by the time they got back to me they had sold the last set.

It's alright, I really wasn't dead-set on them anyways. Now I've got more decisions to make.. Damn it. I kind of like the wideopens as well, they make them with white centers and a polished lip, or in black. I'm thinking black..

I guess "first start" isn't 100% accurate. This video is after I finally got the cranking PW and timing issues worked out. I'll quickly recap the day.

Get to the shop, first thing is to crank the car for oil pressure. Turned over the car for close to an hour with 15 min breaks in between to let the starter cool down. Car never builds oil pressure off just the starter. I finally said **** it, i'll start it and shut it down if it does not see oil pressure in 10 seconds. First attempt to start fails, try fuxing with the CAS, vroom success. Around 5 seconds of running and oil pressure is good. The car idles at 2,000 rpms and has a hideous squeal coming from the bay.

Shut of the engine to address the squeal, it's the alternator belt. I'm pretty sure. Tighten it up, go to restart the car. Nothing, cranks and wont fire. This is my fault for wrongly calculating the cranking pulsewidths. I scratch my head for a while, try different timing settings and fuel settings, flood the car 5+ times. I'm pissed off now.

After a good hour or two of ******* with it like this with no success I had to recharge my battery. Thing was dying, i had no charger on me. Recharged the car a bit by tagging onto my integra and idleing it for a while.

After all this, I say lets go back to square 1. I reflash the original timing settings that the car started on and hit the mspnp manual. re-read the section that explains calculating cranking PW and found out i did it wrong. Re calculated the cranking PW for the bottom 4 fields. Flipped the CAS 180 degrees (not sure if this did anything, but hey). And the car fired right up and idles at 2k rpm.

At first I thought i may have a vacuum leak or something causing the high idle so i checked over that by spraying some carb clean all over the intake manifold and injectors. No fluctuation in the idle. Okay, next i tried adjusting the idle screw. Nope, silly idea. Went into MS and adjusted the frequency of the idle valve. Got the idle acceptable by increasing the number until the idle was around 900.

Set base timing in MS, matched it mechanically with the car. Bueno. Went ahead and tuned JUST the idle cells. That is what you see in this video.

Now the biggest mind boggling issue today, what did I do to my fans? This is what happened.

At some point my battery was weakening from cranking with no starts, so I hook up the battery to my 1994 integras charging system via the battery and leave it idling for about 10 minutes. I forgot I had them hooked up and turned the key on, then I hear the fans immediately. The fans should not have come on which startles me so i shut if off right away, then realized what I had done.

From then on anytime I turn the key into the on position the fans (both of them, the AC and regular one) come on. I checked the MS settings and nothing has changed, i can turn the output for the fan completely off and both fans still come on. Did I **** up something within the MS?, everything else about the computer works fine so far. Even my mods I did earlier in this thread (vtps works, wooo).

Or failed fan relay?

Can't help you with the MS biznas, but NICE! Congrats on getting it fired up and idling.

Thanks man, I was so happy to get it running to the point you see in that video. The day was all ups and downs with me trying to figure **** out.

No work on the car today, but this week I'll get a road tune on it and see what a little bit of boost feels like.

I miss power..

Can you build yourself a box around your air filter to isolate it from the turbo heat? Well worth it.

Agree, definitely looking good.

Did a fan setting or triggering setting for the fans change when you reflashed?

Did some testing on the fan issue. Unhooked the MS alltogether to see if it was a stuck relay. With the MS disconnected and the key on the fans do NOT turn on, so it should not be a stuck relay as far as I can tell. ECM plugged back in and "output 2" stays on.

I looked into the output settings on the megasquirt, and actually completely disabled output 2 (the fan output), yet the fans don't turn off..

I may start a thread on just this topic since its my main issue right now.

In other news I drove the car and got it roughly tuned. Wow, it is so awesome. Boost builds SO quickly I love it. I have found my torque, and it is great. Got boost dialed in to just under 10psi, first gear it lights them up and on a hard 2nd shift it blows the tires off again. The torque is so awesome for doing little slides around turns and donuts and such. launches with the car are 100x easier now as well. It feels ******* great!

Will post up some logs soon to compare.
