Hmm I'm gonna have to pick one up from esteban. Question: every time I put my ac on my temps rise up alot. Is the fan not strong enough or another reason why a tray might help

Very nervous about tomorrows body work. I can never go back.

Undertray or not (Yes, you need the undertray), there's no way your temps should be doing that with a good radiator, shroud, and those SPAL fans you said you installed earlier.
You sure the fans are running the right way? Do you have them both set to come on staggered? |
yes, the bigger fan is on the engine side the smaller on the ac side. I am working on getting a oem under tray unless I can pick up a beatrush skid plate. But I dont feel like cutting up metal to make it fit. I also have a small drip of coolant by my temp sensor for the temperature gauge. I ordered new oem hoses for now and plan on getting heat wrap or a heat insulator that a member mentioned.

Your fans are different sizes? That's weird.
Make sure they're pulling and not pushing. |

Yeah, sounds right. That's what he meant by pulling, same as the OEM setup.
Undertray + ducting and you will not have overheating issues :) |
Gerald, does it overheat at idle in the same scenario?

I did find a small drip leaking from the temp sensor for my temp gauge. Other then that I totally agree with you. I have a great cooling system and this strikes me odd. |
What i'm asking is if it overheats when at idle, sitting still, with the A/C on. :bowrofl:
If it's just while driving around, get an undertray on that bitch. Do that anyways. But if it's doing it while not moving with the a/c on, then you've got other issues. |
Okay I'll find out

Gotcha. And I am going to get a tray from esteban the next time Im in orlando.
It doesn't over heat idling, just when the ac is on driving around. This happened in Orlando driving back home. I did find a small drip leaking from the temp sensor for my temp gauge. Edit: I also agree with concealer, if its overheating at idle than ducting won't do anything for you. |
It's 83 windy and cloudy here atm. It's not overheating sitting in my drive way running for 15 mins with the ac on. Be it may that the occurrence happened at high speeds of 70 mph when I experienced high temps under ac.
Temps stayed around 175 |

Going back to the heating issue, my thermostat is gutted.

Installed the om under tray and modified it to fm piping. Temps drop significantly. Thank you.
Btw I am experiencing issues with my tune. I will post them up in a bit. |

I have been experiencing several issues. One of which I am at the point where I parked the car for a week and will be there longer if I can not fix the problem. I am barely familiar with MS and I don't mess around in the program.
Problem one is my car shuts off either in a few different scenearios: Cruising and coasting to a stop while out of gear Cruising and coasting to a stop and downshift gears to a stop and it's out of gear for the last 10 felt or so I sometimes can take it out of gear and it keeps the gears idle high enough to keep driving without using the acceleration pedal Shuts off at a stop of the other symptoms do not effect the idle prior I have several logs of each issue in all 3. |

Custom undertray cutout. This side is much cleaner then the other side. Words of advice, use protective glasses when dremeling plastic. It can burn when it contacts your skin. Lol I put them on towards the end of the cutting and got some plastic under my eye and have a couple burns.

I am putting a 3.9 speed sensor in my 6speed msm for my 3.9 diff. This is the difference The size difference in gears. The 3.9 is much smaller then the 4.1 and the color of the gear. The 3.9 is white while the msm is yellow. And to tell which gear is in your transmission, there is a color coordinated circle on the outside. The 4.1 is green. The 3.9 is blue. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1400160787 20140515_090331 by rocketeerbandit, on Flickr https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1400160787 20140515_090344 by rocketeerbandit, on Flickr https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1400160787 20140515_090356 by rocketeerbandit, on Flickr |
damn, will need to trim my undertray soon. Thanks for the advice about that sh*t getting hot and keeping it out of your eyeballs!
