Your VVT head is basically what I want to do this winter (if I can afford it, lol)

Did you get any headwork?

Uhhh... more than what I was intending to After learning that the valves were worn, I decided to go full tilt at at. Including the SuperTech +1 valves, spring and retainers - the exhaust and intake bucket decks are being machined for clobe clearance for TSE's exclusively nasty cams coming in a couple months... Full port and polish being done, valve seats have to be cut for the +1 valves, Supertech shim-under buckets being ordered within a day or so... honestly, there's nothing left un-done as far as the head goes now... until Andrew hooks me up with his cams. I haven't bought adjustable cam gears yet however... havn't even looked into yet honestly.

Yep... basically what I want to do to my head, except I'll probably do the headwork myself and just pay for valve cutting and stuff.

Doubt you'll get any benefit from adjustable cam gear with those camshafts. What are you doing for ignition?

Honestly haven't given that a thought yet - other than COPs, I'm not sure if I'll need more juice that what those give though...

Hmmm... in a couple months You'll HAVE to do some clearancing on the exhaust bucket "guides" otherwise they no worky - lobe hit guides... maybe on the intake side too. So I'm doing that grinding now so all I have to do is drop in cams and retune for glory. I'm not sure how much has been released yet, but I'll let Andrew do the talking if he ever sees this... but from what's already out there, expect 0.400" total lift - and stock is like 0.320? You'll also have to use Supertech shim-under buckets, which I'm sure TSE will hook you up with.

I have basically the same cop set up on my 500+ whp EVO with no problems so you should be fine with cops for your goals.

Dam, been busy gettting the NB turboed - and recouping financially from the crazy spending!

Head is still at machine shop for +1mm valve install. Got the OSG back from getting the high-power tune by Emilio a couple weeks ago. Ordered a set of 10" 6ULs from him too, in black. Meanwhile, the GT +40mm Widebody kit with full rear quarters came today from Autokonexion, via TSE.
This is gonna suck tweaking, hanging, and finishing it. Trying to decide if I should make it a removable clip - I guess 'why' is a better question to ask. I do want to close off the front opening some as I think it's rather too large and will add to aero resistance... still think it's the best aero efficeint kit out there with some tweaks.

Damn son, I think it's about time you pick up a sponsor while your placing one of your orders.

I can't wait to see it finished, and pick through your parts

Welcome to the widebody club Bryan.

Once again I am sorry to hear about the valves. After our last conversation I researched VVT valves. I read they get hammered from revving the motor past 7,200. This kinda makes sense given the valve lift is +1mm over 99 type cams. So if the above is true then why add even more lift? I bet the weight reduction from SUB will help. Maybe different valve springs to change harmonics. Thoughts?

The supertech springs should be able to handle the valves better than oe, but i didn't plan on making this a high-rev application, maybe once in a while. However, the increase in airflow should help across all bands, esp coming out of the corners. Talk with Andrew for specifics ;o)

Slight non-update - only thing on track pig is that I got my OMP HTE seat, and installed the ARP hub studs on the front. Also installed my OSG after coming back from 949 with High power tune.

In other news - the automatic DD is in shop, should be out in a week or so...

I would love to see how you have mounted the HTE. Gutted doors?

By door you mean the flimsy panels on 2 hinges and a catch? They couldn't be any more gutted

I'm also wondering how I'm going to mount the seat... will likely take to Kirk Racing (guy who built cage) and have him position/mount seat and steering column. Before, like Hustler quoted one time, watching one of my videos, I look crunk... mostly because the seat was at a 5* layback (if that) and had to extend my arms way out for the wheel. I also could barely extend the clutch pedal to the floor.

This time will be much better and comfortable.

Yeah, those. I have a full door/interior, custom mounts and the seats barely fit - the doors will literally close on the seat. Getting them in and out is a nightmare.

Got my NB back... did a couple pulls on WG alone (8#spring), then at 13lbs... I must be getting old, because I love being able to hold my coffee in one hand not having to shift **** taking off from a stop light
After some head scratching, we learned we didn't need the boomslang to parallel install the DIYPNP - there were only 2 wires connecting the ecu to the transmission control module that I found from Mazda were 5v communication wires, but nothing preventing the TCM to operate correctly. So out went the factory ecu...

The pulls were done in 2nd

This was 1st-3rd in automatic - poor torque converter...

Updates? None - other than the engine is at Hux Racing double checking my assembly and clearances.
Car will follow soon as I have to move out of my Lease shop to move into this mid-july... yeah I've been a little occupied.

I see buying a 2-post lift in the near future

So f'ing jealous^^ I bet that's a reasonable price, too. Bryce sent me a link to the place he wants to buy and I nearly **** myself when I saw what property prices are in non-Key West places. It's absurd.
