My attempt at "getting good" GT3076R
#161
+1 for the towel in the tunnel next to the fuel tank. I stuffed old bed pillows in these areas on my car.
Even with all this extra stuff, I'm still stuffing a towel in the tunnel.
Annnnnnd done.
Now the only thing keeping the car off the street is an axle I ordered. Once on the ground I'll get it aligned, then start doing some pulls for my tune. It will be a few weeks until my body guy can get to it so I will drive it around in the meantime.

Great news!!!
I received the axles I ordered. In the end I bought a diff with axles due to the fact you can't find msm axles anywhere. That hurt my pocket book bad.
The diffuser is a little rough but I was able to salvage it I don't think anyone will see this part. I repainted it and put on new stickers.
On the ground at last!!!
It gets an alignment today, 18psi has been working on my tune. So the first thing I do is get some logs done. I'm really excited to see what can be done there. I expect the body to be fixed in November. My body guy is very busy. I'm also waiting on another 3.63 to arrive.

you haz saggy boost per the logs
here's what we discussed via text

reference the mbc from just before the tb in the coldside piping.

Do you think this will hold. I wasn't really sure what the best approach would be on the turbo. Just a nipple plug and something to hold it.
I don't think I posted the new ignition system:
I know I'm picture crazy but these pics might help me later.

Drove the car around a bit today, boost is spot on. I can't believe that was all it took. A few pages back I was frustrated and about to buy and EBC. Oh well, just goes to show I have more to learn about this stuff.

No major updates so far. 18psi is helping me with the tune. He has made positive improvements for sure.
I will say after a week of DD the car, the sound deadening has made a huge difference. The car is much quieter, no more rattles. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm glad I went through the effort. When the car is done I will finish out the trunk with 3 layers. I couldn't do all of it because par of the inner trunk was damaged in the wreck.

Yeah I'll keep complaining about how much of a piece of utter garbage Hydra 2.6 is to work with, because it is, but at least we're making progress and your maps are smooth and properly scaled now. I'm all about smoothness/driveability. It takes an hour to adjust in hydra what takes 10 seconds in megasquirt
As discussed, if the car can take 25-26psi without breaking up let's give that a shot now that I threw more fuel at it, but there is one thing becoming pretty clear: it's definitely choking/or leaking.
after you re-routed the mbc I expected for there to be no boost drop off at all. this is a giant snail after all. and although there is improvement, it still tapers up top. this tells me it's seeing major restriction or leak. which is another reason why it's not making enough power to obliterate that 5sp, IMO

Not sure, but I would expect it to. It's running conservative fuel and spark right now, assuming it doesn't knock with more timing and leaner afr's and more boost, then yeah it definitely should make more power.
Then there's the "we don't know how close you're reading to a real DJ part:
Is the road you're doing the pulls on perfectly flat and level?
Or you can do 2 pulls, 1 each way in the exact same spot and compare them, then average out for a more realistic number.

I thought about that. The road is as flat as the eye can see, there could be some grade to it but I can't see it. To me VD is just a "close enough" kind of thing. I take it with a grain of salt. Its the same road I do all my logs, so I can look at the first log I ever took and compare from there. We know the car dynoed 265hp on the first log so by comparison we can guesstimate whats going on. If the car can reliably handle it then I would like to see 300. But I've got baby knowledge on tunning and such so Captain its up to you. I feel like we will run into more bugs since that has been the way this has gone. Since I didn't build the motor we could run into issues there. But who knows.

Tuning is going well. Props to 18psi for being all over it. If it weren't raining here we would probably be done. I've run into an annoying issue. I have an AEM boost gauge that has a digital sensor. The sensor is on the line connected to the brake booster on the drivers side. The gauge reads accurately until about 18psi after that it doesn't go over 19 psi. I think the sensor is bad or maybe the location of the sensor is bad. I need some thoughts on this. I'm running blind, logs show a stable 23-24psi but I would really like to monitor it in real time.
Also it looks like the denso ls3 car coils I have are limited. We are seeing misfire at 24psi, plugs are gaped at 0.035
