PSA: Your Fancy-Pants Recaro Seat May No Longer Be Legal For Racing
:( Recaro pulled them and you can't get them anywhere anymore. They were on the top of my list at one point. Lack of FIA would not stop me from running one, if I could get one.
Haha, thats awesome. And yeah, basically all throttle usage had to stop any time I pointed anyone by. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could pass pretty much anyone on the straights but my cornering speeds are low and my lines suck, and I make liberal use of the point-by whenever I feel like I'm holding someone up. There were a couple other turbo cars in C and it was pretty obvious who they were. They were prepped with brakes and such so it was really great to follow something with a more liberal amount of power.

After Keith's car broke early on Saturday (and with bbundy not present), I only saw a couple cars in A that had anything approaching the straight-line speed of mine. One was Zandr's blue-and-white 95 LS3, and I was pleased to see how little gap he actually pulled on me down the straight. The other was a greenish-purple NB that I don't know whose it is.
And yeah, pointing the faster Spec Miatas by (mostly on Saturday when I was running significantly slower than on Sunday) was agonizing...

Yeah. I'll post the video of why I didn't go as fast through 9 and 10 in a second.
I had 4 down to:
1. Brake hard at marker 2. Lift at 1 and get on the power. Then try not to lose it into the wall.

Brakes are starting to become an issue. I'm fast enough now that I'm getting fade in certain places. Its consistent so I know its coming and I can prepare for it, but it needs to be addressed. At this power level I need to step up to something with more thermal capacity and I need to get my ducts installed. I'm seeing 11.75s in my future.
If you are running the Carbotechs, did you get the snot looking deposits on your rotors that make them vibrate like they are warped? I had that issue when I ran the Carbotechs on my last few track days. Overheat them once or twice (on 1.8 stock brakes) and they leave some deposit on the rotors that makes everything worse. Then the fading really gets bad.
Do you think you would have been ok with the addition of proper brake ducting? I have been wondering how big a difference that would make. It might have been the difference between fading in one or two brake zones or no fading. Even with ducting I am sure the 11" setup would be just marginal for your needs.
You need the additional margin that the 11.75's offer, no doubt about it. I wonder if you could benefit from the 11.5" mini setup that Aidan and the guys have been messing with.
I hate all of you guys for getting to play on that awesome track!!! Definitely one of my bucket list items!

don't spend more money on brakes until you get brake ducts. With brake ducts Martin was able to continue to use 1.6 brakes on his turbo car. Pads didn't last long, but they continued to stop the car!
Ducts are mucho important.

Yep! That was the very next lap after you did the James Bond thing Mine still feel round though.
I was trying to see how late I could brake for 8 and I came up over 7 like a bat out of hell. Car got light on the hump and started to wiggle on the suspension bound/rebound, then I n00b'd it and punched the brakes and locked them up. Who got that shot? Gotta add that one to the album
