Lol well at least I have a baseline offer
In other news, I got outbid on the 10AE and I'm pissed about it because we missed a really nice '01 on Monday for cheap. Stupid.
Ordered rear control arms for my car. Will probably order fronts today.

Lol I don't know. The car came with this seat and a like a new sparco sprint V. Previous owner said thee recaro is worth a LOT more than the sparco.
I don't really know whay that means, but I do know that new ones are over $800 apiece, so it would seem to me that this should be worth considerably more than $50.
That being said, we here at MT.net are concerned with function over brand name/recognition, so to all you guys it probably is only worth $50!

Correction . . . Recaro COSTS a lot more than Sparco. Cost != worth.
But after 22 years of wear/tear (any cert long-since expired), you basically have an old seat. I like the purple dye/CR listing idea.

Well that's good to know. He did say worth, not cost, so maybe he just overpaid. Wouldn't be entirely surprising, this guy just chucked money at this car like it was nothing.
Alright. Sure wish I fit in it, it is WAY better than the Sparco sling seat buttcheek muncher.

something is not right with that car. that intake tube is not an nb intake tube.
also it says "reconstructed" meaning its been repaired before.
also they won't total out a car that's just missing rear bumper.
but congrats

Yeah, the car needs a considerable amount of love. But I'm playing with this auction thing. With the fees and crap it came out to $2689. Which is more than I was hoping for by quite a large margin. BUT... Worst case scenario, I fix it up and sell it. The rear bumper is still usable. The tub is pretty clean.
What can I say... I fell in love with the color.
I don't know exactly when I'm going to pick it up. If it can wait til Monday I will wait til then. It's a bit complicated since it's also our anniversary weekend, and if I try to spend my day off with car stuff I'll be seriously in the doghouse. Hehe..

Don't mess with anniversary weekend!
I can't figure out the engine picture. Obviously, there's been some mixing and matching. The valve cover seems to have recessed script, like a 1.6. But the IM is clearly NB. Makes me wonder if this is an overseas car with the fuel-economy 1.6. If so, you'll need to do a VD pull for us and post the lowest power Miata ever on mt. LOL.

LOL no I won't be messing with anniversary weekend.
I need to figure out where to put this car so I can get it running, then determine if it's going to the body shop with my MSM bumpers, or with the stock bumpers back on it.

Chances are very, very slim that I'll go MSM bumpers.

First things first, I have to make sure I didn't just waste a bunch of money. Gotta get this little blue one running, since a non-running engine is worthless.

for the miatas .....
oh yeah .... i got the title from the action and it was indeed a insurance claim car because the seller is state farm .... i believe it was totaled because the rear bumper need it paint and it has a bunch of scratches that did not cut into paint but are superficial ....... this is crazy guys but i can testify about cars being totaled for a broken taillight and a small piece of trim.... if this engine start Ed is golden !!!!
You should run a carfax because I have a sneaking suspicion this car is being wrecked for the 2nd time.
But honestly it doesn't really matter, as long as the frame is straight and true, and the body isn't bondo'd to kingdom come.
The intake tube could be because prev owner may have had intake on it, lost the original tube, and just sourced whatever he could find before giving it up to the insurance company.
