I'm there for $8k but super hesitant at $8500. I'm torn because every time I look at David's car (the perfect 10AE with the nickel 6UL's I posted earlier) I feel like that's what I want. But I expect I can buy Vlad's car for considerably less, and it's a sick car too.

Can I make the $8500 happen? Sure. Do I want to? I'm not totally sure. This car will be a weekend and fun day only car. I have wondered if it's worth the extra money to get one this clean, but even ones with considerably more miles and no hardtop (but clean) are listed for over $7k. There's another one in WA with 32k miles and no hardtop, guy wants 10k for it. So it does still seem like a good deal. It's just a lot of money.

Help me out here guys. WWMTD??
My name is Nate Anyways, i say this depends somewhat. I know the MSM motor is more like the 99, but how about wiring? on either of these cars you are going to need a new ECU to control it, right? or does the MS from your MSM swap into a 99-00? If that's the case, i'd strongly look for the 10ae.

HOWEVER, vlads car if you can get it for less is just as stunning imo, and white is a great color as well. The nb2 engine should be more valuable come resale, and same with the bumpers. Plus we all know vlad is one ---- meticulous ****.

It is a matter of priorities, if you can buy Vlad's car for significantly less, that would be cool since it is a clean NB2, however if your love for the 10AE is strong and you promise not to crash it then the price he is asking is reasonable.

Do let us know when the surgery begins, there's a few of us around here that would be willing to lend a hand, I currently have Doppels NB sitting in my garage waiting for Vlad's motor haha.

Thanks. I'll definitely be getting in touch with you guys, even before the surgery begins. I have to enjoy her stock for a little while

The MSM has an AEM EMS4 which I know nothing about. Due to this site's infatuation with MS, my tentative plan is to get MS (probably an MS2, but open on this) up and running on the stock 99, learn it a bit, THEN swap everything in. Would love to hear some input on ECUs.

I do not plan to swap the MSM bumpers onto the 10AE, so the extra resale of the NB2 bits means very little to me. I confirmed with Vlad that his car has a rebuilt title so even though it's a good deal, bank won't do it. Also, my 10AE love is strong enough and it's considerably closer so that's the route I intend to go.

Gonna go see it Wednesday.

(If one of you ***** buys it before then I'll cut your sausage off and send it in a box to Brain)

wait, what???? no bumper swappage? Why the hell not, that would look absolutely amazing.
Only reason I brought up crashing is due to the 10AE curse, not a reference to your current situation.
Regardless of what you do, put a roll bar in it and come join us at the track asap, this summer is shaping up to be quite awesome.

You're ending with two running cars, correct? I'm really hoping you're not going to scrap an NB when it just needs a subframe and a couple of control arms.

Great, going from the TI curse to the 10AE Curse?

I'm not swapping the bumpers because this does nothing for me"

High res pictures of the only Sapphire Blue Mazdaspeed Miata in existence.

While this is absolutely perfect, and is essentially what I'm going to build:

https://www.miataturbo.net/cars-sale...%248250-72324/

I'm not going to take an immaculate car and start pulling parts off it and trying to paint match it. The 10AE is getting suspension and rollbar with 6ULs (most likely) and smoked turn signals and painted headlight housings, and that's IT. I MIGHT consider fitting up the MSM rear bumper because I like the little trim strip on the bottom but probably won't.

Once I finalize everything, there will be LOTS of parts for sale off the MSM, bumpers included.

No, I will not be ending with two running cars. The MSM is worth more in pieces than it is repaired. It's the sad truth. My 10AE will be a tribute to what the MSM had been, and I'm leaving it at that. It sucks, and I would like to rebuild the car, but it's just not practical. I'll be parting it, or at least parting the most valuable parts (hardtop, softtop, interior, etc) and selling the shell if someone wants it. I'll be swapping the MSM tails onto the 10AE.

Might do some research about HID's since I hear the '99 headlights are terrible and I LOVED the HID's in the MSM. These things can be decided at a later date. As of now, I have no plans to do the MSM nose swap.

I'm of the opinion that the MSM did look best in the colors it came in.

Sell them to me now, It'll help offset the purchase price of the replacement car

That sapphire car isn't right. It's just a 10ae with an MSM nose

Doesn't have the rear bumper, has those fugly mudflaps instead. Still has nb1 tails and doesn't have the right headlights.

It's the little things that make it.

That may be true. But again: The car I'm buying is all original and I don't plan on messing with the body. If I were going to do a swap or something I'd do it on a car that needed it.

Id be interested in the front subframe and steering rack from the MSM for Lazarus once you decide to part it out.

10AE FTW! I don't think $8.5k for one with miles that low is a bad price. I bought mine for $7k with considerably higher miles. It had 97k, hardtop, one (female) owner since new, garaged at home and work, never winter driven, all maintenance records, and a brand new still in the shipping box 10AE gift set.

Oooo, 10AE gift set. Yup I do not have one of those. Still have the tonneau, though. I'd honestly prefer higher miles and lower price, but this car is close enough it's accessible and everything.

Called the bank and did the loan app. Will hear back tomorrow.

Getting excited again

Cool I hope everything works out! When I bought mine in 2011 I wasn't even actively looking for one. I was driving a turbo '94 NA that I had just finished building the year before. I planned on getting a 10AE "someday" after seeing one in person at a car show in 2009 and falling in love with the color. I spotted mine while just browsing on craigslist and after looking at I figured the next one as clean would probably be more money and require a plane trip halfway across the country so I said F-it I'm buying now lol.

Precisely where I'm at. I'd really rather wait another month before buying, but I don't want to miss out on this car.

Loan approved. Should have everything locked town tomorrow and will probably pick it up next Monday.

Woot, woot.
