There is no way I would be able to shake the car down enough before Dec 28th to be even remotely comfortable bringing it to the strip. The motor wouldn't even be broken in most likely.

Break it in like a rented something you would rent and treat badly.

Hookers and escorts come to mind.

I remember Bradenton well. It was actually a little over a year ago :P

So I didn't read everything but I saw goals similar to what I am making, but the sig says 7163. Did something change along the way? Cause a 6258 makes the power you wanted with ease. I'm referencing the second post in this thread.

Goals changed. Its been a while since I began this journey. Efr turbos didn't even exist when I started this thread. I plan to just keep upgrading everything in this car as I go because I like to tinker.

RyanG has been busy. Daytona weekend was something to remember, especially for Ryan.

He decided to take a shortcut from fifth gear down to second instead of fourth or even third. Number three rod couldn't take the pressure and jumped out of a window.

So the engine comes out.

Yes, barefoot and in shorts in December.

Actually, it was number four and not number three.

So many MSM parts destroyed :(

For some reason I feel like that's one of the more gruesome compound explosions I've seen.

The turbo may still be okay. All of the exhaust valves are also completely intact so there is some hope that the head is salvagable. The MSM block isn't special and neither are the internals so there may be no destroyed MSM parts. Pending further tear down.

There was also another nice surprise during the pull. The driver side motor mount was pulled completely in half!! Aw yeah.

Nice MSM. Are you using the stock MSM sway bars w/ the bilsteins?

How long did those motor mounts last you? They look like the Mazda comp ones?

If those are the mounts that came with the car from the factory, then they are the MSM specific ones. Not sure if Ryan_G upgraded them at some point or not.

Mazda lists 3 different PNs of motor mounts for the Miata. From softest to firmest: 90-05, 04-05 MSM & Competition. The part numbers are floating around here somewhere, or you can look them up somewhere like Rosenthal.

Thanks. I was just curious because most places say the comp ones last a year with autox/track use. I think I will go with the $200 heavy duty ones from Goodwin racing.

That was the original mount for the car.

Christmas presents from swain. I have a lot of small parts that have arrived. There will be rapid progress starting tomorrow. The build should be up and running in the next two weeks.
