Hmmm, maybe I had too much fuel? Wife put 25 miles on it for me today while I was at work, maybe I'll give it another shot tomorrow morning.

Are you saying the car can't give the correct obd signal to a smog machine for evap with a full tank? Or are you saying the car can't clear it's own readiness codes for evap with a full tank?

Come to think of it, I ran it pretty low to use up the high octane stuff, then filled it up. So it may not have driven at all between 1/4 & 3/4 yet.

It's not a reporting thing -- the EVAP system monitor only runs if the tank is between 1/4 and 3/4, so if you had it at just below 1/4, ran it low, and then filled all the way up, it could take half a tank of gas to get it to the proper level. I don't know exactly what the monitor tests do, but it's something to do with the pressure in the fuel tank and making sure that it changes appropriately when the ECU opens/closes the various valves connected to it. If the tank is full, then there's probably not enough volume of fumes to put the pressure ratios into the right range or something like that.

FWIW, the stock ECU runs just fine on 100 octane.

Thanks Ian, worth a ton in my opinion.

Perhaps, it was pretty smoggy when I drove over the bay this weekend. I am glad to be past all that smog

Now I need to finish some maintenance on my wife's urabus and swap one of it's axles, so I can have my garage back.

Getting back to normal, but I hit a snag. I am not totally comfortable with this kind of thing. Had to run to a local electronics store for some jumpers, I could only find one on an old hard drive.
I think this is configured right, and I can keep my #1 & #2. Then just add 2 wires to my options port, pins 14 & 15 for #4 & #3, so I can have sequential ignition.

So... Why do you need sequential ignition? Aren't your godlike monster coils invincible even running batch?

Um... I would actually like some criticism, thoughts, heckling, input, anything on last post please. I already put the thing back, with pin 14 in yellow wire as #4 and pin 15 in black with white wire as #3(for my own reference) signal for my #3&#4 coils. I have an ms2pnp 3.3.1 with map daddy.

Hopefully it won't pop and smoke like dewds hyper 1.6.

I actually need to over dwell them to reach 25psi. Sequential would still be 40% duty at 7200 with more dwell. I can tell you my dwell in a couple of days.

The real benefit of my god like coils, is that I can over dwell the crap out of them and they won't cause a pre-ignition event. Plus it would be nice not to have to gap the plugs super tight. I have had spark blow out with the new coils, but not recently. Planning a fuel upgrade will likely tax my ignition system even more.

Left Nigel a voicemail.

Planning to get some fueling goodies from miataman00, maybe I can even drive my car.

Moar progress

I wonder if I need to change my ignition settings in tuner studio or if the jumpers will make all the necessary changes. Perhaps there will be some warning about new menus when I first connect. Hopefully I don't end up back here going, now my car won't start.
Or it will be back to over dwelling in batch.

All back together and... My car won't start POS! Now I keep blowing the 15 amp engine fuse under the dash. I think I am stuck running batch ignition for a while longer. I will put it back and see if it stops blowing fuses, maybe I messed up the jumpers some how.
