I actually lost my undertray somehow . I know its super bad for cooling but the car never gets hot, and the splitter takes place of the undertray when I'm on track soooo. I should be good I think.

It's worth putting the under tray back on. They're surprisingly cheap at the dealer (or at least, they were the last time I replaced mine). I think it's because they get mangled so often that they sell a lot.

The NA one is $68 + $10 shipping or something from Priority Mazda. I was honestly surprised by how cheap it was, and Tommy had them in stock.

I challenge you to post a link for an NB one at that price + shipping point.

Also

Alternative to undertray is to extend the splitter back as far as the front suspension pickup points. It should help a great deal compared to no tray at all.

The splitter attaches to the subframe near the oil pan. I will need a undertray for street duty apparently.

$46.31 plus $11 UPS ground shipping from Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development. That's for a 99.

MSRP on it is only $77.

lol. I'd happily give them $57.31 for a new undertray, but MMD won't take my money.

Maybe they'll finally accept me once I send pictures of the car with numbers on the doors upside down and stuffed into a tire wall at Laguna. Because that's much more likely to happen before they accept me for membership.

Hah. The next time I do a track ...thing I'll try to rent a transponder and show the world how terrible I am, then maybe they'll love me.

Hi David! the LRB is nice, but I don't think I want to spend that much on a street undergrad. The oem one should do the trick.

Quick thread diversion. Im currently installing the 6pt harness I got forever ago and am slightly confused on where to put the ASM holes in the floor. The instructions say 20* rearward of the hole in the seat but I have no way to measure 20*. So, how did you guys do it?

I took it to Tony at TC Design and let a pro worry about it.

I don't think the precise angle is all that critical, you can just eyeball it. If you want to overthink it, measure the distance between the seat and the floor and do a little math. It's been a while since I took trig (uh, like almost 30 years), but IIRC tan( 20 ) = horizontal distance / vertical distance.

No tech will ever look at the angle of your harness
